Wing Commander™ 1+2

These games have a way of pulling you into them. I remember my first time through doing terrible and actually being afraid/upset when the Colonel would chew me out or getting raging mad when the kats would ice one of my wingmen and I would go on a revenge kill spree. Great game, great history.

I have so many fond memories of playing these games back when they came out. I was hoping for a native port to XP/Win7/Win8, but it turns out that it just runs in a DOSBox. Consequently, there's no convenient way to configure the game for use with modern game controllers, like the Xbox 360 gamepad; no way to reassign buttons. Even more disappointing is that you can't hear the outstanding musical score and sound effects as they were meant to be heard on the MT-32; rather, it just uses vastly inferior DOSBox Adlib emulation. I wish I could get a refund.

After some long time back in the seat of a Raptor, an Epee, a Crossbow.. feels like yesterday. Totally enjoy it flying aroudn in this classic gem. Loved it 32 years ago, still do. Only issue is.. I like to take over my char for secret missions - how to ? anyone any idea ? thx

I played it as a child in the early 90's, even could remember to speed up is + & to slow down is -. But better play with keyboard and maybe mouse in addition to aim instead with a gamepad. I kinda like those graphics :)

Bitte Liebes GOG - Team bitte bringt Wing Commander 1+2 auf Deutsch raus, Dann würde ich es Definitiv kaufen. ihr solltet wenn möglich alle Retro games die ihr Rausbringt auch auf Deutsch raus bringen. ich komme, mir als Deutscher Retro Gamer etwas Diskriminiert vor.
