Buggy mess unfortunately

You start the game being thrown in the deep end. There are too many mechanics to deal with in a volatile area and you are likely to mess everything up. Just starting the game, you see red health bars while in combat, you attack them right? If you're zoomed out, you can't see that they aren't fighting but cowering. After 45 hours I still don't know how to differentiate from a mouseover UI element whether or not someone is hostile during combat. Pretty simple, friendlies/innocents should have green health bars. There are many odd quirks and annoyances throughout the game, but after playing other games with similar combat, the combat in WL2 was a lot better and easier to understand. The main plot is fairly uninteresting, but there are some interesting characters and interactions. It really feels like you can play however you want because you can kill practically anyone. The quest/journal screen is worthless. Just tell me where I need to go, I am a 'ranger' on a mission assigned to me, and you can't tell me where tf I need to go? "Dur, we need some stuff, we heard you this one place has it, check it out". Ok, well I've ran around LA, Griffith Park, and every other area here SEVERAL times (literally last 5 hours of my play time is going in circles not sure where to go or if my save is bricked or something, just start killing people to see if it shakes something loose). I got my worth out of it so I'm not that salty, it feels more like this could have been good or great but it just wasn't. Reading posts from 2014 talking about all the problems I am having now. Everything took a dive in LA. The story line became dumb, the quests became dumber, no continuity with the first half of the game, and several things not working correctly. tldr, good but not great. Second act is a failure. This was a test run for WL3 and I will not be buying. inXile track record is consistently sub par in overall execution.

It looks rough, but give it a chance

Very good RPG. Don't listen to da haterz, yo. It's been patched pretty thoroughly already, but still in need of some fixes. At its core there are some gameplay issues that perhaps cannot be undone by the devs (perhaps by modders?), but it remains a really good game with good writing, an interesting world to explore and plenty of choices to make and consequences to face along the way. It's worth getting if you like old-school RPG's, if not at full price then in a sale.

Dull, Uninspired, Lazy

I expect better, given how much this game hyped itself up on its pedigree. As a post apocalyptic rpg adventure the game works, which is about as much as can be said for it. As an RPG, it is somewhat lacking. Character build options are quite versatile, but every character is still going to boil down to some combination of melee fighter/ranged fighter/talker/medic/thief/engineer. There are woefully few opportunities for role play within the story. There are few ways to express your character, even in dialog. The story itself is solid if rather uninteresting. Characters are awfully flat if they're given any personality at all. Scenario design is creative but every situation plays out about as you'd expect. Quest design is horribly inane. The skill system is inane pass/fail savescumming of the highest caliber. It's ridiculous how many loot crates are randomly trapped. For how much of a hassle it can be just to open a box, there's never any remarkable loot inside. Mostly junk items for sale. Combat encounters are simple and get repetitive after a while. This game is ugly. This game would be ugly in 2005. The graphics are absolutely atrocious. Animations are pretty slick though. Sound fx are delightfully pleasant. Everything from the creaking of leather travel packs to the snap of a firearm reloading to the UI sfx are pretty nuanced. The UI is functional and aesthetically appropriate, especially for immersion. If you play it, Wasteland 2 is a discount game. I got it for free as part of GoG's Deadfire deal. I feel like I paid too much for it.

First thought after install oh no another Unity slow bloatware , Second thought after 1hours of game play , Good bloatware works great on this genre, nice animation, voice acting and gfx, just remeber if you buy it ,its unity its uses alot of resources its high level , but it works great on a budget pc with a decent 3d card but not on gubbdata GOG email computer.
