Fantastic game, still holds up today!

40k Space Marine still holds up today, its unfogiving and crutal 3rd person FPS. The story is mianly told via cutseens and audio logs will fill in every blank and all your questions. It's a game you just cant stop playing. Its challenging and rewardgin with a steady increase in defficulty and only a few spikes along the way. As a note, if you crash on Windows 11 (at a very specific point with a white flash) set the game to Windows 7 compatability mode and you'll stop crashing.

Dumb flawed fun

This was my first introduction to the Warhammer universe. As the title says, it's a simple and straightforward game revolving around making you an unstoppable killing machine for eight and a half hours. Initially, the loop of shooting the far away orks and chopping up and executing the near ones with your chain sword is very fun and engaging; however, it doesn't change much throughout the game except for a few sections when you get the jet pack and hammer and smash the enemy into a paste. The story is serviceable, start-middle-end and it all makes sense. The world is fleshed out with audio logs, which help to build on the main narrative. The world, character design and art direction are great. Despite the linear-level design, the world feels huge. I experienced some technical problems. In one particular dark sewer level, my screen went black, and the audio cut out. The hud showed that I was still playing but couldn't see anything. I restarted the game to try to fix it; however, the problem persisted. To completely fix it, I had to change the game's resolution in the settings and turn on VSync. Toward the end of the game, I also experienced some audio stutter and cut out; however, they were only a minor annoyance. I would definitely recommend getting this on sale.

For the Emperor!

God i still love this title even after all these years. It's pure Warhammer 40k experience from start to finish with well paced action, solid story and captures the brutal, grim future of its setting. I was depressed after i heard its original sequel had been axed and the studio shut down. Thank you Sabre interactive for bringing back the sequel and staying true to the experience this one started. Fully recommended and endorsed by my wallet.

Wonderful Story

This is my first Warhammer and it seems this is game isn't the start of the lore but in the midst of it. Regardless, I like the story. The gameplay is pretty fun and action-packed. Because of Dark Souls I expected my rolls to be invincible, but Warhammer keeps the realism where you still can get hurt. Same goes for the execution animation. Just got to play more conscious, that's all. I beat the game in one sitting in about 6 hrs. Overall, great game.

Short and simple, but a good timekiller.

The game was a bit short, I beat it in about ~6 hour on normal difficulty. The gameplay is a bit simplistic compared to other hack and slash games, depeding on the weapon, you can do a 3-5 hit combo with stuns mixed in. You have access to most iconic ragend and melee weapons like the bolter, chainsword, powerhammer, plasmagun etc... Not a AAA experience, but for a weekend break, it suffices.
