Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate

The main issue that everyone is having with it not working is that it crashes when trying to start a mission. This is fixed by installing it on your desktop rather than the auto location. This game has ages well, not perfect. Still a very solid and worth a buy, I am half way through the story and it is just as glorious as i remember. BUY THIS GAME

I was ecstatic when I saw that this game was finally available - I have been hoping that it would be added for a long time. Unfortunately, the game does not work for me. When I try to start the first mission I am met by a black screen and am unable to continue. So, if you are thinking of purchasing, be warned that you may not be able to actually play.

The store page was full of 2015 reviews saying the game didn't run on Windows 10. It does now: I just installed it and played, no patches or settings tweak necessary. Looks like GOG fixed the problem. That aside, the game's really fun. It plays a lot like Jagged Alliance or combat in the older Fallout games, so if you like those you should buy it. The UI's slightly clunky 'cause it was built to 1998 standards, but it all works except that the map sucks. The story's boring, but if you rename all your space marines after family and friends you get 50 microdramas to get engaged in. The music's good but overly repetitive. I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Hi, As a kid this was one of my favourite games as a kid, as I was also a big x-com fan. To get this working in windows 10, I followed the youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyFwLHWoApI and it worked Glitch I had in windows 10 was game crashing when loading first mission of the game. I was able to play and complete the first mission. I have not played any further than this yet as not had time. GOG is there anyway to get the compatibility mode put in the settings of the game so it will work? Until then recommend to get this and then do the fix in video above. Its one of my all time favourite games.

This is one of the better turn-based tactical games I've played. The UI is a little clunky, but it's fun to play. Colorful soldiers running around shooting, ducking behind cover, flying, and setting fire to things with psychic powers. The game's biggest drawback is that the campaign is too short, but you'll certainly get your money's worth at GOG's price.
