Fun on a stick
The game is just fun on a stick, it does a good job of trying not to be a Diablo clone by avoiding skill trees in favour of "destiny" cards to build your characters stats. One of the best games I have played recently, it plays fine with KB/M but as regards a controller, it is probably the most responsive game I have ever played with a 360 controller. Maps are broken up into "instances" each with its own portion of the story as you progress through them, but each instance also has its own set of challenges to make it worth your while returning for more fun. You can equip two weapons, but only use one at a time, so while the skills of one weapon are on cooldown you can switch weapons and use the next weapons skills and then when they are on cooldown you can switch back to the original weapon. There is a nice range of weapons like Hammers, Swords, Scythes, Shotguns, they all come in different flavours too eg. with elemental or explosive damage and they each have their own sets of skills eg. AoE, to unleash pain on your enemies. Legendary weapons level up with your character which is nice, you can also "craft" equipment in the game as well Destiny cards are items you can equip, each adds a different dimension to your characters abilities, they can increase HP or add damage effects etc. You can also equip bombs of different types and this along with spells can be your nuclear option when all else fails. Did I mention how much fun the game is?
