So Activition-Blizzard in their wild strike of great decission released the game at the same day as HL2 this throw entire studio under the bus and force Authors of 3 great games to outright look for another job Cruelty and incompetence of this company must stop and this game Deserved a lot better However 20 years later with Unofficial Patch Plus game is finally fun to play and decently finished Facial animations looks better in this junk than in some of the modern games (not boomer take, i m honest) Gameplay is kind of fun, game is very hard at the beginning and very easy once you get good how do you get good? SPAM F near every human enemy Sneaking works only at very high levels Guns works only in lategame Intimidation and Seduction are weak, unless you play as lady Inspection is insulting and outright unfair - spend points to collect things easier... Every skill have its place and use in the world Game is very similar to mass effect in a way that you chose one of the pre-existing pathes and enjoy the ride This game is possibly best adaptation of Table Top Vampires in the game EVER MADE YOUR MONEY WILL LAND IN BLIZZARD POCKETS Buy on sale or after they pay for their crimes!

I went on this journey (because it really is quite a journey!) already very famliliar with Vampire: the Masquerade and White Wolf's World of Darkness RPG world. I'm not really a computer gamer, however, and I was looking for an immersive story rather than a technical gaming challenge. This game offers both. World of Darkness is a very rich game setting, and this game captures it rather well. The intrigue, the manipulation, the deception and the moral ambiguity are all there, and despite the fact that this feels like an FPS a lot of the time, your decisions carry weight, not least when dialogue is concerned. On the down side this is a somewhat buggy and glitchy game. When this, and the "technical" shooter/fighting challenge felt rather too much, I still couldn't stop as the narrative was really engaging. I used a few walkthroughs and cheated my way out of a few situations just to experience the story. For fans of World of Darkness I can't recommend this game highly enough!

Legend goes that every time one mentions, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, there's at least one person out there that will reinstall it. The first time I have played this game was back in 2004 when it was released. It was by far one of the most buggiest gaming experiences I was ever graced with. It had abysmal performance, tons of bugs, including game breaking ones; it took around 10-15 min to load the larger levels on my 256 MB RAM rig. But, it was all worth it, to be able to: - listen to The Deb of Night - take a leisurely stroll through the Ocean House Hotel and experience one of the best horror segments in video game history - have a conversation with my TV - have an argument with a STOP sign - joke around with Smiling Jack - try to reconcile 2 former assassins and friends, who now want to kill each other - listen to Alistair Grout's journal, a paranoid Malkavian with the eloquence of Oliver Goldsmith - experience some amazing quests with top-notch writing and stellar voice acting - and most importantly, Play one of the BEST RPGs of All Time And these days, it's even better, with the Unofficial Patch by Wesp5, which has been a labor of love for almost 20 years.

Just so you know: if you install the "normal version" of VTM Bloodlines, it also includes the Unofficial Patch 11.5. However, you will be playing the vanilla version of the game without any changes to the gameplay. Only bugs are fixed. Some purists might prefer the "Troika Version" The Unofficial Patch Version of the game contains the Unofficial Patch Plus with restored content and changes to balancing and disciplines which I personally consider the definitive version you should play. Your choice. Have fun!

This game is every bit as great as the other reviews have described it. As of its appearance on GOG on 4/25/16, this version includes the latest unofficial patch from March 2016 with numerous bug fixes and native widescreen support.
