Highly enjoyable

This will take you back if you have lived through the heyday of adventure games like Kings quest, Monkey island, etc (yes, im THAT old!). Top notch voice, great story, some puzzles are a bit offish. Replayablity is there through different backgrounds like in dragon age origins. Several different endings are possible depending on choices made during the game and at the end. Doing quests with different helpers is also rewarding but not extremely different which is a bit dissappointing. Overall I enjoyed it quite a lot, the characters are lovable (or hateable) enough, theres some humour for levity and some darkness for us noirlovers. Its a bit on the short side but this was money well spent. looking forward to more of Wadjet from now on.

Unfortunate Design Choice

I'm not sure what they were thinking, using the silent protagonist. There are muiltiple choices for who you can be; perhaps they decided it was too much work to record dialog for each option? Either way, the end effect is the character you play has no personality and doesn't feel like he/she is part of the game with all the rest of the characters who do have a voice. Secondarily the puzzles are so easy that you don't really have to stop to think so you never get that feeling of acheivement as a result. That said, I may not have thought about it had I been able to get engaged into the story more. If you've never played a WadjetEye game before, play anything else in their catalog and come back after your hooked. Even with a weak entry here or there, they really are masters of the genre.

If Bioware made a point-n-click game.

It is like someone copy-pasted the story structure of a Bioware game into a point-n-click game. It's all there except for combat and xp. Big epic story, colorful characters, party management and a couple of twists along the way. The puzzles could have been harder though.

My favorite WEG game

Wadjet Eye Game might not have the brand recognition of Lucas Arts, but they are producing memorable retro adventures for almost 15 years now. The voice acting is spot on and with all the different choices (including party members) you are given, the game has enough content for a very different second playthrough. All the puzzles are relatively clear and your items are only needed for puzzles in the same region, which makes solving thme feel less rewarding, it on the plus side, the game floe doesn't get interrupted by pixelhunting, large backtracking portions, randomly combining items or checking a guide.

Loved it!

I've played several Wadjet games and usually takes me a little bit of time to get into the story but this one had me hooked immediately. Not many games can do that. This one is probably my favorite out of the series. It took me 7 hours to beat, and I played it straight through tonight. I wasn't bored at any point. I did use some tips to help move things along but it could definitely be played without help. The players in the game can offer some tips too without giving too much away. The controls were great. I appreciated the look feature, instead of having to click on items like you normally do in games and wait for the character to walk over and say their dialogue, you can just scroll over items and it says at the bottom. The story line was great. Lots of great characters. Definitely recommend
