Waited So Long To Play This Game, Then..
Objective Review Playtime around 2 hours. 6 of 5 must play. 5 of 5 great story great gameplay. 4 of 5 great story average gameplay. 3 of 5 average story average gameplay. 2 of 5 play only if it's your favorite genre. 1 of 5 play if you have nothing better to do. 0 of 5 play if you're a masochist. -1 of 5 avoid. Ultima VII the Complete Edition score is 2 of 5. Subjective Review The story in the complete Ultima VII game is second to none. I started playing it and was immediately captivated. Impossible not to be the way it begins. Plus you get all the add-ons so it's one complete adventure! But as I played I was eventually dismayed. The slanted top down graphics, and the choppy movement of your characters; the way they run after "baddies" only to meet their quick demise. I just gave up. Walking in grass and low bushes that your character and party melts into while you choppily move along. I couldn't even find my party after a fight because I couldn't tell the difference between them and the flora at times. It's a shame Mr. Garriott. Why you don't revisit these games and bring them up to date graphically/movement/mechanics so today's gamers could enjoy the story that unwinds perplexes me. There is so much that is good in these games story-wise. But other than that...nada. Look... I know there's a LOT of old gamers on GOG, I mean after all, that's mainly what GOG is all about. But I'm not going to give a game a stellar score just because it tugs at the ol' nostalgia strings. I'll be at the head of the line to give the Ultima series its due credit, for revolutionizing the RPG industry in its day. But man oh man. The graphics, especially in Ultima VII, sort of slanted isometric characters against a flat back ground. Ugh! Character movement that jerks along like they run out of breath every second step. Ugh again!
Hilft dir das weiter?
