Great little game

I loved this game, even though it was more like a story. It was definitely an emotional tearjerker lol. My only negative is its a shame they had to put a few swear words in it as my 9 year old daughter would have loved this. Could have widened the audience range without the swear words. Great little mystery in the story along the way and the reveal is where the tearjerker comes into play.

What a beautiful game...

I hate myself for playing "To The Moon" this late in my life. I bought the game and postponed it until three days ago. Right now, I finished the story in my second session -which is pretty rare for me even in short games- and can't wait to go on with the minisodes. After playing all of them, I will head on to "A Bird Story". Beautiful story with great storytelling, combined with a delightful soundtrack. If you are a fan of 2D graphics like I am, you will probably like the graphics, too. That's all I can say about "To The Moon". I won't go into technical details because clearly, it's not how the developer intended. He wanted to tell a story and he did it wonderfully. If you are a "storytelling" person, you will definitely love the game.

To the Moon

To the Moon is the second game made in RPG Maker that I have finished so far, the first one being Always Sometimes Monsters. The game is pretty linear with a few mini-games that come along from time to time and a focus on story. I won't say anything related to the story, since this is how I started and enjoyed discovering every little bit on my own. Also, the soundtrack (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Snl67XsI6Is) is amazing on its own.

A very inventive and original story

As others have said, this is a good little story, but it really is more of a "playable story" and less of a "game." It's pretty linear and there are few real choices to be made. If you want to, you can play through it in a long evening, or over a few short gaming sessions. But that's OK. It's a good plot with some creative ideas about how one lives their life, how memories haunt and affect us as echos across time, and what one might do differently if able to go back and make different choices (though altered memories, which is the game's premise). It's short, sweet, and poignant and one of the few "games" I would actually love to see made into a movie. Because it is basically an interactive plot, even with the low-res 16-bit graphics, it has a very cinematic feel to it storytelling-wise (in how information is revealed, etc).
