The second game in the genre
The original game is wonderful and unique. The new dlcs aren't quite as good, but they're not really bad.

Sick so far
Haven't played it much yet, but I love the vibes. Also the masteries look interesting and I already have a bunch of character archetypes I'd like to try

Maintained to death?
It's great that the devs kept working on this game so long after release. Too bad they neglected to check if their changes had side effects. Like, say, making the "final" boss unkillable for melee characters. And that's what Typhon is, unkillable. The age of the game also means that wikis, guides and forum threads are hopelessly obsolete, and expect a lot of equally out-of-date fanboys telling you how they one-shotted him easily and how much you suck at the game. Shame, really. The game is very fun up to Typhon, the setting is amazing. However, using skills can be weirdly clunky and unresponsive at times. A far-above-average, very solid game (sans "final" boss) though I must say I cannot see the basis for the superlative praise everybody heaps on TQ. This is the first game I've ever given up on; I'm not completely re-speccing my character into an antithesis of their core game style or grind until overleveled to compensate for abject design flaws/oversights. Again: shame, really.

Know what you're getting into
TQAE has pretty graphics, vast hordes of re-spawning enemies and bosses to battle and plenty of classes and abilities to choose from. Annnnnnnd... that's it. If all you want is to power-game your character build and slaughter countless monsters then you've absolutely come to the right place. You'll love this game. If you want literally ANYTHING else in your game - an engaging story, interesting characters, combat variety, thoughtful quests, freedom to role play your character - then look elsewhere. I know that this is an ARPG and maybe I was expecting too much (hence 3 stars, not 2) but there could have at least been a decent story or some different kinds of quests. I made it most of the way through Act I before the repetition of 'go here, kill/get this' ultimately bored me. There's just no depth, which is a pity because the idea of questing through ancient Greece, Egypt and Asia really appealed to me.
