The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

While it's true that Witcher 3 has a very colorful cast of NPCs barely any of them is actually likable. All man in this game are jerks one way or the other. The female NPCs on the other hand are far more deeply written - they have actual agendas, not defined by whoring, drinking and being an ass, as with the male characters. Combat tries to imitate Dark Souls or Batman Arkham or something but is WAY to imprecise and floaty to do much of a controlled counter/attack. You just flip around and hope you hit something. A joke but manageable with time. The map is littered with an amount of collectables that would make any recent UBISOFT game proud with only VERY interesting encounters. And then meet Roach, the dumbest horse in the universe! Roach stops for every twig on the road or for no apparent reason. Roach is so terrible to ride that I choose to run almost all of the time. The UI and inventory is terrible, incl. GWENT, which is just there to drag the game out for dozens of hours as it is required to progress the story. I had to apply a dozen Quality of Life Mods (inkl. skipping GWENT entirely) to make this acceptable, I also cheated on the money because the grind to buy things is just insane. It's hard to raise children, yes but this game is about her in every second sentance. First it's all about finding Siri, then it's always Siri this, Siri that and then you give one bad answer and get the bad ending - bam! So I stayed with the 'bad' ending because, really, Siri, get a grip. Also I hated like the game pushes me to romance Yennefer, who was absent for 2 games, while Triss was there for me all the time. Nearly a lesson in bad drama writing. Heart of Stone wants to be some nihilistic Noire-story but wasn't that remarkable in it's execution. The MAIN reason I give 4 Stars to Witcher 3 is for Blood and Wine. There was just EVERYTHING right with this: Story, charakters, quest-design!! If only the whole game had been like this.

Bad game with good graphics and story. Dodge mechanic: broken in extremely player hostile way - you can get stuck on random objects while dodging or some attacks may hit you regardless of whether you dodged or not. There's little consistency in whether dodging an attack succeeds - especially in fights against bosses. Bosses often attack with wide aoe attacks but you get no indication of where they'll hit, what's their range etc - so you dodge hoping it works this time... When an enemy parries your attack your recovery time is absurdly long - often time over a second which is more than enough to lose the fight if you're fighting multiple enemies. This forces you to play Witcher 2 as you would play backstabbing simulator - dodge + backstab, dodge + backstab and so on. Sometime to control the crowd you might need to use some offensive signs - this however is done only to separate an enemy from the group to allow you to restart the backstabbing sequence. You have very little control of what attack exactly Geralt will execute. A single mouse click can result in attack consisting of one or more slashes - which attack is chosen to a degree depends on position of enemy relative to Geralt and combination of WASD keys pressed when you're attacking. There's however no way to 100% force Geralt to execute a particular attack which results in another layer of randomness being present in W2 fights. You wanted to execute a single slash? Too bad, Geralt just went into uncancellable 3 slash combo. Quickevents: used often - you encounter them when fist fighting and during cutscenes. I'm not sure I've ever met anyone that enjoyed quickevent-filled content in a game - I sure as hell didn't in Witcher 2. Menus: rage inducing. As bad as ones in Elex... Graphics - great, stroy - good, mechanics - terrible. I'd rather read a W2 plot book then play this game again.

Soooo, i am so disappointed. Especially on CD Project Red. They just keep lying, they just cant stop. So i have heard that it will be a next gen upgrade for this game that it will include the complete content. So i have bought the last gen game. But i didnt bought the complete collection because what was the point, if the next gen would've included the season pass as well? if i would've pay one more euro it would've been the complete collection. And when the next gen arrived after a few months, guess what? it doesnt contain the expansion pass and instead of one euro the season pass cost now 20 euro. So i guess i was a fool to trust this company. But never again starting today. So BTW, how can this have 4.8 rating with so many 1 star reviews?

The setting is just so horrible, I can't play this. Tried for several hours but the suffering all around the main character, combined with his apparent indifference and refusal to do anything about it, just made me stressed and angry constantly :(
