The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

I only hope to live long enough to play another game like this again. At 25, my chances might be a tad slim...

I love all manner of rpgs and I have exhausted them through the ages. The Witcher 3 is the most memorable yet and I fear ever. It's not just a game, it's an act of raising the bar. It's a beyond beautiful world and the story is masterfully told with meaningful sidequests,npc's,lore and a world that is surprisingly connected for its size. With Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, it is THE example of how dlc should be made. It's not a perfect game, but it's so beloved I'll focus on critiques. You can see where reality quashed ambition throughout the game. A game of this size, they intended to make it fully open as was stated in the demo video, yet you have places like Oxenfurt Academy which become simple scenery, and all manner of backdoors,towers,homes which have no entry in the games two major cities. At specific times errors can display fast travel flags showing some minor areas were meant for more lore/quest significance. You have unfinished questlines such as the Skellige weather stones, or assets obviously meant for something such as Devil's Pit. There is a very respectable import bonus from TW1,TW2, in the form of npc dialogue and even appearance that even simulation doesn't provide. It's a reward for old fans/save hoarders it seems. However they utterly dropped the ball on TW2 Lorveth Path. Scarcely a cameo, I was very disappointed they ended the series with no mentions of that. These are not so much problems. I got over 200 hrs each in 2 different playthroughs with one being honest and the other exploitative of tools like testpause and fly cam. They do stand out to me however as the game in all other manner shines so brightly. The game has met remarkable success and I do hope in future they only improve upon them by correcting the dim spots in an otherwise flawless creation.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is nothing but a masterpiece. A game that has to nothing. I have invested my whole summer, from 16 of June till 23 of August playing this game almost every day from 3-5 hours nonstop. To begin with, I first bought the game on 1st of January of 2016, I didn't really gave it such interest. I had made quite progress into the story but I decided to start it all over again and give it the interest such game deserves. So It took me about 1-2 months to finish it on May of 2016. Now that's for the main story. I didn't really intended to buy the expansions until the next year when I decided to give the game one more run, in a coinsidence the Expanions pack was on sales and I chose to buy them, which I'm glad I did. Now I will talk about the story. You play as Master Witcher Geralt who is on a quest to find the emperor's daughter Cirilla. A child of the Elder Blood who wields great powers. Throughout his quest Geralt stumbles into past foes of his like Zoltan, Vernon Roach, Keira Mertz and hunderd more. Your main antagonist is The Wild Hunt. Night Riders that are about to bring the White Frost and destroy the current world. Apart from the main quest there are almost thousands of side quests to do which every quest has it's own background and story. About the gameplay. It is just perfect. During combat you can use your signs, oil your swords for specific enemies to deal more damage, drink potions better regeneration, eat food for health. This might seems little but believe the list is just neverending. You can upgrade your swords with runes or your armor. I hope you make the right move and buy this game otherwise you cannot call yourself a gamer in my opinion. You shold take your time with this game and it's expansions because if you don't, it won't give the satisfaction it gave me. This game is a step to gaming and how developers should make their games.

It's a bad RPG due to very limited RP and a terrible action game, because of unresponsive controls and general "drunken ballerina" fighting style. Player's choices from the previous games were mostly ignored. The DLC have intersting design for boss battles, but the battles themselves suffer from the above-mentioned combat system.

Trust me, just buy it... unless you like bad games, in that case maybe try Fallout 76?
