Worst of The Witcher franchise

I have the feeling that The Witcher 2 was just a sort of transition between The Witcher 1 and The Wild Hunt. Just like an unfinished project to have a look at what The Witcher 3 might be in the future. The game does away with most of the gameplay of the original The Witcher. It changes the perfect RPG-like combat system of The Witcher 1 into a kind of ragged action system. One consequence is an exaggerated and unbalanced difficulty. It is also the shortest of the entire franchise. However, it is not the gameplay that is the watermark of CD Project Red. It is the story, the atmosphere and the dialogue. And that makes this a fun title to play.

Well played CD Projeckt

An absolute triumph in the art of RPG storytelling. By far the most compelling characters, boldest storytelling, and most enjoyable combat in any RPG designed to date. Look on and despair, Bethesda, for the RPG of the Year won't be yours this time. While the editor has made a few blunders in the marketing of this superb game, that does not detract from CD Projeckt's mastery of game design. I'm a long time fan of RPGs in general and CD Projeckt in particular as a master of the genre, and this is certainly one of my favorites. If you enjoy good RPGs, mature stories that don't insult your intelligence, wonderfully human fleshed-out characters, and engaging combat, this is the baby for you.

A special breed of RPG

I'll be the first to admit this game is not perfect, there are it's ups and downs, there are it's tedious moments and the combat is love it or hate it, but damn. Everything is done so damn well it's criminal. The story is brilliant, the graphics are absolutely stunning, the whole setting is so immersive and powerful you won't care about the game's shortcomings. Get it as soon as you can, you won't regret it.

One of the best RPG ever made

Sometimes I think, that there is a curse of some kind on the cRPG games - the best of them have a lot of technical issues: Fallout 1&2, Bloodlines, Alpha Protocol, Torment, Witcher 1&2... The more respect to the Witcher developement team that they repaired their game by themselves, and not left this to community ;)

A great game, good for hardcore gamers.

It's a great game with good decisions and great combat too. I recommend it for the Fanatical and Hardcore gamers such as myself and, it's DRM-free. I hope the Enhanced Edition is more optimized than the Original The Witcher 2.
