The begining

This was the first attempt in Witcher world. And it was ok, sure nowadays graphics is bit outdated, but back then it was really good game, which made foundation for next games to come. This is classic and every Witcher series fan should play this game. Pros: + Exciting story + Memorable and interesting characters + Epic music and sounds + Decisions have actual impact + Nice alchemy and leveling system Cons: - Few minor bugs - No possibility to go back to previous maps - Combat bit strange and needs practice

Absolutely terrible

The first thing I noticed about The Witcher is how bad the controls are. It features a ridiculous mouse click timing fight system that is clunky and not fun. Movement feel stiff and animations are horrendous, with lots of random hitching. The first and last time I tried to play The Witcher, it crashed on me within twenty minutes. After loading it up again, I found that I had to start all over from the beginning and sit through the very poorly written and voice acted dialogue. This time I managed to get to a guardian fight, some sort of bug, which knocked my character down then stepped over the top of him, preventing him from being able to get back up. Needless to say, he died and I shut down this worthless excuse for a game. Absolute garbage. I'd have more fun playing Daikatana.
