Stupid, stupid ending

Yeah, intriguing story at first, great graphics, tough-as-nails puzzles you can solve with extra effort. Gets you to care about Sadwick and his worm. Gets you really worked up and excited for the climax. . . and then drops a stinking load of COP-OUT CRAP ON YOUR HEAD! Painfully, dreadfully cliche. For shame, for shame, for shame. Why do people still keep doing endings like this?

Great art , Puzzles are not very clear

You usually expect from an adventure game to challenge your mind with logical puzzles, and great story and art. This game has the art, and a bit of the story, but the puzzles are really not clear, there's not enough hints as for what to do next, for example you need to backtrack a lot and you don't always know when or where. the map should be more obvious about your next goals. you can't really tell much from the items you have and how you should use them or combine them. it seems like the puzzles are a bit tacked on the story and art. it's a nice game,but if you don't play a lot of adventure games, or if you want to just enjoy the story and great art direction without getting stuck because you have no clue on what to do next, i am not sure if it's worth the full price.

Horrendous

Another horrible Monkey 3 clone from Daedalic. Like Deponia, all the elments are there, beautiful cartoon graphics, bad dialogue that should suppsedly make you laugh, nonsensical and super-contrived puzzles. Unplayable without a walkthrugh.

Outstanding production, mediocre writing

Quick summary -This game is an enjoyable old school style point and click with a detailed but not overly impressive fairy tale plot. The gameplay is mostly based around inventory and conversation based puzzles. I think it is worth its price but it's not one to write home about. It feels like it should be a game aimed at the (very probably) few children that play point and click adventures. The good - This game is excellently produced. It has great graphics, a nice soundtrack and a well designed simple and intuitive interface. I think the voice acting was fairly good although I understand why some of the other reviewers found the main character's voice a bit whiny. If you don't hate the voice you can enjoy a good 8-10 hours gameplay of a beautifully rendered story. The bad - The puzzle quality is very mixed. Most are logical but there is a scattering of the thoroughly mad. You will almost certainly need to look at a walkthrough three or four times. The plot itself is also bland and childish. I disliked the ending even though i saw it coming. It's just a bit too childish and predictable. Overall I felt that Whispered World is a game I enjoyed playing to wind down for a few hours. I would most recommend it to someone who's looking for a family friendly game. I'm glad I bought it but there are better games to try first.
