Fantastic and relaxed gaming
Always loved Settlers games. I have great memories from these games. When nr 3 came out, without the fixed paths, that was a big game changer for me. Really nice game!

Running fine with wine and debian

Have to use taskset to force running single threaded but after that.. all good. If it don't start then Intro isn't disabled. Thats why the amazon campaign won't run - it starts an additional intro which can not be disabled (or I didn't found the option). But the usual campain and the mission pack running. Great thing, I'm again Settler 3 addicted.

Get S2 instead
I am a huge, life-long fun of the Settlers 2 games, so it was quite a struggle not to buy S3. When I finally did buy it, all that followed was dissapointment. There is actually no improvement over S2 in this game IMO. The graphics, while technologically better, are less pleasant than S2's. Roads have been abandoned for some reason, and IMO they were quite THE feature of S2's. Difficulty is a joke, you will you just build a resource base and then "BOOM!", million soldiers at your disposal. Just get S2 or anniversary edition and skip this RTS.

Needs to upgrade for Windows 10
I loved this game but when my son broke my cd's of the game I downloaded from GOG but found it's not compatable with Windows 10 which is very disappointing. GOG did refund me to my wallet but I wish I could play the game. There are so few games that interest me so it's a shame when I couldn't play it. GOG please find a patch to fix this and then I can change my rating.
