Not what I expected
The battle mechanics and graphics are reasonable. The game mechanics are so-so: they are chapter based which means that you cannot go back to a previous city. But the characters are often unpleasant or uncomfortable: for example the girl Estelle is a sort of hyperactive and spoiled brat who absolutely must vent her opinions at every opportunity and to hell with the consequences. This often leads to endless and boring conversations which btw the player is not allowed to skip. The girl Schera seems to tend towards exhibitionism and sadism. I more or less ignored these aspects but when the LGBT persona of Oliver came up and started singing and hyping his views about the world in lengthy detail I gave up - my preferences for an RPG being an interesting plot, maybe interesting conversations (especially in JRPGs) and a feeling of social cohesion. And I personally doubt that Nihon Falcon has that much success in Japan because I had a very similar experience recently: I went to see a modern dance show by a group which was touted a being quite successful too - but just as this game, it turned out to be heavily skewed towards sexual themes and despite the official positive assessment half of the spectator seats were in fact empty. In conclusion there are certainly gamers who will like this game's approach, but I will not remain a customer for Nihon Falcon.
