The latest from veteran developer Con Artist Games, creators of The Last Stand series of games, The Last Stand: Aftermath is an all new, premium singleplayer standalone action adventure rogue-lite. Choose a survivor to set forth and explore the ruins of civilization, finding fuel to travel to new locations and gathering supplies to craft weapons and more.
It's Dangerous Out There
You'll need to stay on your toes, since hordes of zombies still roam the streets, and you're no superhuman. In fact, you're one of the infected yourself, and eventually you'll die, be it from the hostile undead or the virus rampaging through your body. But when that happens, you'll pick up the game again as a new survivor, with perks and upgrades earned based on your progress from the last, and set out to try again.

As it is, The Last Stand: Aftermath distinguishes itself from other zombie survival/roguelite games by virtue of its unique new character respawn idea and the incredibly detailed and believable post-zombie apocalypse world it imagines.

The Last Stand: Aftermath is a rougelite with a unique concept which keeps each run feeling fresh. Each character, despite having nearly no dialogue, still feels distinct and gives you the sense that each volunteer who sacrifices their life in the name of the community is important. As you progress and unlock new and better equipment and upgrade your survivors, runs will become longer and unveil new story beats, constantly keeping players pushing to unlock the next upgrade, find the next supply cache, or uncover more of the world's lore.

Worth a try!
Addictive gameplay if your into loot/ resource mangament. while it can be slightly tedious at times it later turns into you wanting to do just one more run.

Looks interesting
I only played through like 5 survivors so far, but the game is quite fun. Aiming is a bit janky but not a major issue, more so in melee than ranged. Only is I couldn't get the controller to work, but it's more of a nuisance than a problem.

Best Topdown Tactical Shooter
This is the best real-time tactical shooter in the zombie setting that I've played. Everything is really smooth, switching between the primary, secondary, melee, and optionals feel really fluid. The movement is dynamic, stamina-based with running, vaulting, climbing in-n-out of windows, etc. etc. You travel from place to place, scavenging supplies and then you move on, so there's a real sense of progression, of distance traveled - it's my ideal for a zombie experience.

Another disappointment
Movement scheme (controls) with mouse/keyboard is atrocious because the game gets hectic and your survivors last the whole of 3 seconds when surrounded by zombies. Sneaking around is cosmetic only and has no function - you can not avoid battling the zombies, and then the controls come into play again. There is no emotional aspect with your survivors - zombie apocalypse games live from emotions they instill, here it is all sterile and interchangeable because the characters die like flies and when they're gone you automatically get another one waiting in the line. Graphics and sound are good and the overall game world and premise would be ok if it were not for the above mentionend issues. If one is proficient with such controls, the game would get 3 and a half stars, for me - it's money wasted.
