The humor and story are pretty well done. There are jokes galore and the story makes a certain kind of sense until the Big-lipped Alligator that is the final act. Unfortunately, like many of the games in this genre, the puzzles are ridiculously obtuse at times. A clever solution should leave you saying, "I should have thought of that!" when you finally get it (or look it up). Far too many puzzles had me saying, "I'm supposed to do what?!" It's worth a play if you like the story - though it goes on a little too long - but the puzzling aspect is entirely forgettable.

DISCLAIMER : My rating is not about the game itself. Curse of Monkey Island was a great game when it first got out, and it's still is. Probably the best of the Monkey Island serie, also that could be debated. SO yes, the game deserve a five stars rating. BUT... This is NOT a true port of the game. It's not a adaptation of the old windows game for modern computers. There was zero amount of extra work put into this... IT RUNS ON SCUMMVM ! ScummVM, for those who don't know, is a FREE emulator for old LucasArt games. It works just fine... But it really bother me that they SELL a game that work only thanks to a third party free software they probably didn't pay anything to include in this version, and without even GIVING CREDITS to the guys that developped ScummVM in the description of the game on the GOG page. So, Yeah, it's a great game, it works fine, but it feels wrong that they would just hide the fact that they could only release it thanks to the work of dedicated fans of LucasArts games, that have been working for free on ScummVM for years now. Especialy since ScummVM has already faced unlawfull utilisation of their software by game companies. I sincerly hope they were paid for this...

Waren teil 1 und 2 noch klassische grössen im gespinst der software artigen lukasschmiede die für jeden blockbuster zu haben war haben wir hier eine fortsetzung die nicht mehr allzu gut daherkommt das alt bewährte ist hier denkbar schlecht aufbrüht allerdings im völlig neuartigen graphischen gewande mit nervigen und schon längst auskauten dialogen die uns die fast schon längst vergessen schmerzlich vermissen lassen und den auch der witz und die unverfrorenheit der alten im gag in nichts das wasser reichen können.die graphische oberfläche und die pixel hoch glanz animationen können nicht darüber hinweg täuschen das die luft raus ist und auch die konvertierung mit pixelkanten und durchbrochenen sillouetten bleibt hier fraglich bzw. lässst den player im regen stehn.wer die ersten beiden teile geliebt und aufrichtig bewundert hat findet sich hier wieder im disney animations film wobei der spielerische teil wohl mehr schlecht als recht zu vernachlässigen ist.wers trotzdem wagt:cherioo...und ab dafür

This classic game is awesome today as it was 20+ years ago. I'd rate it 5 stars, but it's disappointing to see that the release is english only. Personally I don't really care, but it would be nice to have the old multi5 dubs. I don't know if this is a case of Disney being lazy or if the dubs are gone forever, but since Grim Fandango Remastered had them... come on, find them and patch them in asap!
