Not as modern as expected, but still fun
What I was expecting when they announced the boosted edition was a remaster. What we got was a minor revision. However, Terminal Velocity is a great game anyway. I was one of my two favorite games of 1995 (the other one being Descent). Things that notably the same - The rendering resolution - The gameplay in general --- Things that are improved - Compatibility with modern systems. It doesn't use DOSBox anymore. Also, it should work on fast systems at exactly the right rendering speed. - The draw distance and fog of war. You can see farther, so it feels less claustrophopic - The sample rate on the audio. The original let you select between 22050 and 44100. The boosted edition is locked to 48000. - The controls. The original had a pretty weird default mapping, and a lot of things could only be done with keyboard keys. The boosted edition has the default controls perfectly set up for a modern gamepad such as an XBox 360 controller. --- So in summary, it's not nearly as much of a remaster and I thought it would be, but it's a really fun game, and the things they did make it more accessible.
