SWAT 4: Gold Edition

Amazing game with a great mod community that completely overhauls the game!

Best tactical shooter

I fell in love with this game the moment I started playing. You get to become a SWAT team leader, whose choices can change the outcome of the breach. This game can and will be brutal with the difficulty, but that adds to the experience. The graphics were way ahead of their time and still hold up today. It's not a direct recreation of a SWAT member's day, but it's close enough for you to feel immersed and focused. There are also specific rules of engagement that make the game more than just a first-person shooter. Firing a bullet is one of the last things you want to do to keep the final score as high as possible. Ready or Not is based on SWAT 4. While it has better graphics and maybe even overall gameplay, the fourth part of the Police Quest series is the best for people who want a bit of nostalgia, more FPS action, or most importantly, more space on the disk.

Its a great game, graphics are dated but who cares

If you've heard of or played Ready or Not and developed an interest in its "spiritual predecessor" I would highly recommend giving this a shot. It is in many ways outside of graphical fidelity a far superior tactical shooter in comparison to its modern counterpart. Your ally SWAT AI and Suspect/Civilian AI being the most noticeable superiority. Despite having dated graphics this games ambience and attention to detail is still top notch within not only the genre but the Industry as a whole. If you have the benefit of never having played Ready or Not you are in for an even greater treat as you can achieve Tactical shooter simulation nirvana without having to feel sorrow for what a modern day version of this masterpiece could have been. GOG only lets you rate out of 5 but this is a solid 10/10. Thank goodness companies like CD projekt exist to preserve masterpieces such as this. Absolute must buy for $10. You can thank me later.
