Great fun with obnoxious interludes
The gameplay is incredibly good, and it stays good throughout the whole game. As of writing this, I haven't tried any of the unlockable levels, but I believe I would have happily played through a campaign at least one-third longer without becoming tired. You've got different ways of tackling a level, all of which are satisfying. You'll feel cool no matter what you do. When you mess up, it's usually your fault, not the game's, and you'll have an idea of what to do differently. The "feel" of the game is great. Foe after foe will reel, shatter, tinkle on the ground. Grabbing guns out of midair, throwing things at people. Awesome! The levels go by fast, and oftentimes you never know how many more enemies will spawn in. When they're done, you're pushed immediately into the replay, which made me a little sad that I don't get to poke around the environment. But maybe it just works better that way - whenever I had time to wander around, there wasn't much more to see. The [MINI-SPOILER]body-swapping mechanic introduced partway through the game didn't add much for me, and I often forgot I had the ability because the basic toolset was more than enough for most situations. I wish there's been more katana focus instead. My big complaint is the story, such as it is: It interrupts far too often, and doesn't seem to fit the surreal-yet-badass theme of the game. Every five or so (?) levels, you have to go through an unskippable interlude. The interludes take away control, and make everything you do in-game feel less badass, less surreal, and more like pointless schoolwork (that just happens to be fun). Which makes the short length of the game even more frustrating: you never get that badass feeling back. The story doesn't resolve, become more substantial, or even go anywhere at all. It just hangs over your head and makes you feel crummy. I hope this was a coherent review! If you're on the fence, I'd say to buy it on sale - doesn't need to be a big sale, just any little sale.

Obnoxious UI
Full screen flashing and distortions, forced and unskippable. Unskippable "story" sections composed of banality and graphomania. The core gameplay is good (sans the randomness of shotguns), but the game tries too much to prevent me from playing itself.

Disruptive Story, Unpolished Controls ..
Story Firstly, the story is the absolute worst. Majority of the story is literally reading a black and white wall of text. Then, at one point, it literally force you to quit the game and return to your desktop. There is no simple level select, but you have to keep following this generic sci-fi hacker story dialogue that outstandingly annoying. It should have just had a level select like good games do. Controls It is really difficult to know if you are close enough to pick up a gun or melee a target. So you are often found grabbing at stuff you can't actually reach. It is incredibly frustrating. Especially when you combine it with the next problem, then those fickle controls cause you to get shot in the back while you are reaching for a gun. False Stopped Time The game will constantly tell you how time only moves when you do, but that is not true. Time is always moving just slower when you are not moving. This makes it very difficult to actually plan what to do, you sort of just have to react. NPCs The NPCs are actually pretty good, but they have a few too many advantages that the player just doesn't have. For example, your guns only get three shots, but the NPCs guns have unlimited ammo. Therefore, if you miss a shot and you are facing four NPCs firing non-stop, you are royally screwed. Especially when they will surround you and time is always moving. Then, you can't look around and try to map out a plan. You end up just running around shooting like any other FPS game. Time Then of course it the time problem. The game is really short and lacks a lot of replayability. Once you beat a level there is no real challenge in doing it again. Design The design is way to 1980s. It is cringe worthy. It doesn't feel like the developers were trying to be retro, it feels like they were just too cheap to hire an actual UI/UX designer.
