Stranglehold

This is a fairly jank corridor shooter that definitely puts style over substance. The core gameplay is pretty fun but can be surprisingly difficult at times as the later levels have some mega bullet sponges and you can die very fast. The game tries a couple of interesting things and manages to remain entertaining even with its very basic levels. It's short, it's cheap, why not check it out? Don't forget the FOV mod in the forums!

If you know John Woo’s bullet ballet films, then this is the closest you’ll ever get to being in the thick of it. For its time, it’s very very good. Destructible environments, bullets going through walls and all the signature gunplay moves that made Woo’s Hong Kong movies so great. The cherry on top is having Chow Yun Fat replaying his role of Tequila from Hardboiled. Having Tequila sliding down a rail or diving across the floor with both barrels blazing never gets old.

Can recommend, especially if you are into John Woo action films..

The game has a graphics issue but Ive found a work around. The first time you start the game it will work fine and will play fine. Then when you shut it down and later start it up again, the menu will appear will all pictures in the background will be blacked out. To fix this go to settings, change the Resolution to 1920*1080 click accept, it will still be black. Then go back into Resolution and change it to 1280*720 and the background picture should be there next time the menu appears. This has to be done each time you start the game unless you want to start editing config.ini files which I do not reccomend unless you know what you are doing! Your welcome. Donk Donk

This game is so good, i havent played Max Payne, but one friend told me once this game is super similar tho a little bit inferior to max payne, however, stranglehold have such a magic aura that takes you to the old 90's action movies, it doesnt waste time, good shooting, good story and good music. The only downpoint could be maybe the bosses being bullet sponges, but honestly it doesnt gets over the good points. If you played this game in the old ps3-360 era its a MUST you come back to it at least one.
