STAR WARS™ Episode I: Racer

I bought this as I had fond memories of playing this game when it first came out. Disappointingly it just refuses to run. On attempt 1 it began loading and simply froze at about the 10% mark and Ctrl-Alt-Del was the only way out. After rebooting all subsequent attempts couldn't even get that far. It simply closed itself a few seconds after trying to launch it. Regardless of the price, I'd avoid this as you'll never see the inside of a pod racer with this game.

Really awwesome and classic pod race game in the Star Wars Universe. Works perfectly well, the game handles VERY well, the speed sensation is top tier. You have the choices of plenty of character with their own unique vehicle, you can buy part to make your vehicle better to win more races. A must have if you like racing game and/or Star Wars games.

I use to bike all the way down to the local arcade back in the 90's, rushing there to play this game every chance I could get. We use to have local tournaments, time trials & we even use to bet our lunch money on who will win. Back when TV's we mounted up to the walls & ceilings with game consoles encased in glass. Playing this on GOG brought back many great memories, yet my main gripe is that the game on this platform crashes so often that there is no progress to be made, at first it wasn'bothering me as much. But once it started happening after each race after completing tyhe beginner tournaments in-game, it just becomes very demotivating afterwhile. I sure hope someone can create an overhaul mod to fix these issues. I'd love to see someone make an overhaul mod that enables the use of a HOTAS. Better yet, it would be even better if a sequel were to be made in general. With game mechanics like Gran Turismo's millimeter adjustments on performance tuning.

Runs perfect on Windows 10 in widescreen and 2560 x 1440. Love that game. I have the original disc too.

Still an amazing game.
