Engaging. Fun. Replayable.
From the golden age of Star Trek video games, Armada II gets you as close to what it must feel like for Starfleet admirals to order fleets around from San Francisco. But even if you aren't a Star Trek fan, Armada II offers plenty of fresh takes on the traditional RTS platform to make it worth a try even today. From gravity wells around planets, to sneaky Ferengi salvagers dragging off disabled ships, there are a number of fun little twists that make Armada II feel immersive and well thought-out. Perhaps the tech tree system is a little primitive, but it's nothing to shake a stick at. All in all a very replayable experience that, although it shows some signs of age, still manages to be just as fresh and fun after twenty-some-odd years. Make it so . . .
