It's nice to see a new Star Control game
Good gameplay, decent humor and writing. The only downside is planetary exploration gets tedious after a while.

So many feels
Oh my lord what a great game to feel like i was 12 again. First time I heard of a New Star Control, even with different makers, I knew I would be hooked. I had been waiting for something like this to share with my teenager and my young ones and this is it! I could not be happier for the return to my youth with new species to interact with/kill. It captures the feel of SC2, a favorite for a long time, and introduces new elements like pirates, and other things I just have not had the opportunity to explore yet. This might not be for the hard core gamer, but not every game has to be. I love it! Well done!

Great game, don't listen to haters.
I didn't believe that Stardock can make that game good. But they DID. If you ever played SC2 you will love that as well. Everything here is in the right place. Adventure, exploration, combat an of course humour :). I sleep 4 hours a day from a week, the game is really addictive. What is really better than it's precedessor is that there is more things to do. Ruins on planet surfaces, ship wreckages, pirates, mercenaries etc.

If you like slow-paced games...
...Then this is for you. This has a lot of interaction cutscenes that go on and on and on with dialogue. The loading times for the cutscenes, and loading the game, are interminable. My opinion of the combat is that it's awful. Your ship and the enemy ship are placed in an arena setting which is a pinball machine. You bounce off planets, pick up power-ups and are stuck within a boundary. Just awful. I like 2D space games, but this hasn't enough fun. It's too laborious and frustrating. I bought it on sale during the lockdown to pass the time. Can't say I'm happy with the purchase.

Great reboot
SC2 is one of my favorite games. This reminds me of how it felt to play SC2 the first time. All first person games could be a longer story. But this played well. I look forward to more combat and exploring the map more. The good part, they did not repeat the mistakes of SC3. The good part about SCO not using the SC2 races and characters means that is the other guys still make their sequel, it won't conflict at all. As for all the negative posts about the fight over the rights and stuff, yes, we all wish they worked this out way sooner, but this game is still worth it.
