If you are into it, you'll love it
It may feel janky at first, it is admitedly jankier than it's sequel, but the journey itself and the depth of the mechanics is something astounding, the fact that there's permanent consequences for ending gods enraptures me to keep going. Bonus points for being one of the few games to do justice to how broken is necromancy if taken to albeit rudimentary but massive limits, have so many minions the simulation can tank a bit

Cute idea, but in the end not for me
The concept and story are cute, and can really catch your interest: somewhat they fall short as the game advances because of an important mechanic that was discarded early (factions). I'm used to play games that require a bit of learning and thinking, and I see value as long as it entertain me or at least it has some relaxing aspect of playing the game. So I took my patience and made a two dozen of characters, only a lich necromancer survived... then I had no real interest in the game anymore. Looking of help on how to progress game, the most found answer is "use a melee class with high strength stats". I guess my interest got another hit below the belt: I do love playing spell casters and odd races, be a 'smart' kind of overlord smashing forces against each other... or play slow, but it seems the presence of 'warlocks' and similar classes does not cope with this kind of play. Well you can't leverage on crossfire, so when you get into the wrong neighborhood just run, get killed and restart. That is the whole gameplay: re-roll character until it happens to spawn in a location with the right kind of enemies for it to progress. There are no NPC interactions in current version, except for killing them. There is no shop nor economic value or exchange currency for items, I failed to see if crafting had any value at all except being in the game. The whole game concept is based on "find the proper-difficulty enemy and smash it", and I'd suggest something like any FPS game for that.

Waste of time
Not only is the game overpriced, but the gameplay is all stuff you can very easily experience elsewhere, I would suggest simply getting a different game that does what this can do better
