Great Game

The game provided me with a real sense of immersion. When wandering the streets of Hong Kong, the sound design is quite good and as mentioned, immerses you in the world paired with graphics that have aged pretty well even when playing on a large screen. Gameplay mechanics are solid and reliable + satisfying. Story is good and provides replayability. One big con people mention is the driving physics but I personally find them to be quite fun and satisfying with a slight learning curve. The radio station Boosey & Hawkes is a good one too

Awesome combat and graphics for it's age

Pretty much GTA but chinese. Better combat, and graphics in some ways than GTA V. Its pretty amazing since its a 10 year old game. best 3 dollars ive spent lol. Seriously, pick up and try it out, u wont regret it. Thank you GOG for giving the gaming world what they want, or at least what most people in the gaming world want lol. It's amazing!

A top-shelf, Kung Fu-infused GTA clone

While Sleeping Dogs is not as popular as some of its similar counterparts, this GTA-like game with combat reminiscent of the Arkham series is quite great. It pretty much nails every aspect of its crime-ridden open world, and it’s all wrapped in a neat gritty cop drama borrowing from “heroic bloodshed” movies: what more could you want? The gameplay is overall very solid and diverse. Starting a mission, you never know if it’s going to turn into a brawl against multiple street thugs, a parkour session on rooftops, a hectic gunfight, or a race through the streets in a stolen car; yet, in any of those cases, SD works as it should and is very satisfying to play. It’s all made better by a great sense of interactivity: the gameplay is peppered with upgrade systems and minigames that make it even more engaging. The control scheme has some weird quirks, but it’s nothing too bad. SD is not a very hard game but still offer challenges to those willing to rise up to them, and can thus be enjoyed by both casual and hardened gamers. SD also stands out by its presentation. As often with this type of game, there is a pretty hilarious gap between the way the hero is shown in cutscenes as honorable and the in-game acts of unhinged violence you can have him commit with no repercussions... but it takes little away from the solid writing and great atmosphere. The story, which has you going through every type of gangster job imaginable, is well-told and mature but still knows when to be more tongue-in-cheek. It’s also a good “rags to riches” narrative that’s careful to give the player a good sense of progression and accomplishment. The art direction does a stunning job of recreating a life-like Hong Kong, from its neon-lit streets and crowded marketplaces to its ancient temples. Overall, I can’t think of a good reason not to recommend Sleeping Dogs. It’s a fun, varied, well-made and very immersive experience which has aged very gracefully – and it’s well-priced too! Give it a go.

Perfect for what it is

45 ish hours of interesting combat, cheesy story and just enough open world to not get bored before the end. There isnt a lot to do other then story missions compared to other big open world but I was happy to move on after doing pretty much all of them. There is a maybe a bit too much of collectible that dont really affect anything once you purchased and beat everything but if you want another 10hours of gameplay and completly explore the cities there is something for you. Driving is very arcade-ish but I didnt have any problem with the controls. Only boats and cars, no flying ! Voice acting and the radio tracks are very good, no complains there. Combat feel like a light version of the Batman Arkham games with a bit more combos ( but no gadgets :P ) You get a few guns, but most of the time you will be fighting melee. There is some pretty brutal scenes in the game but also a lot of humor. The main character go through a lot of stuff and the game make your wonder if he really want to be an undercover cop or actually join the Triads. No sides look good in the end for sure. Surprisingly look great with the lighting effects , even for a 2013 game. Looking at the city from higher up is gorgeous. Hong-Kong fever :) For the price this is sold ( bought it for 3$ on special ) , I think its a must-buy if you enjoy these kind of games and dont expect GTA V level of content and polish.

Iconic

One of my all time favourite video games, when I was going through a bad time the worse time I was able to forget all about it and become Wei Shen under cover HKPD in a gripping and intense story singing, racing, shopping or fighting what ever your play style this is an amazing game I highly recommend you check it
