I have purchased this game on several platforms in order to be able to play it across all of my devices.

For macOS 10.13 and 10.12 please use the beta branch - to access it in GOG Galaxy use the Customize button (on the right of the Play button) -> Manage installation -> Configure. Once there, from the drop down menu, under the "Installation" section, please select the "MacOS 10.13 and Older" and press OK. The game should be automatically updated to this version. GOG GALAXY is not supported for macOS 10.11 and below and so, in this case, please use the offline installers for your version of the game.

Rouge-like deck builder Platonic ideal
Slay the Spire is a masterpiece of card game and video games design. The game is simple and accessible to more casual gamers but also incredible depth to those who wish to plumb it. I have over 250 hours in the game and have obtained all achievements and only feel like I've only stratched the surface of the game. You cannot go wrong with Slay the Spire. Worth every penny even at full price.

goood gaem
Overall well designed & fun game. Things are balanced well in my opinion (for a single player roguelike). Sure there are certain combinations & synergies that feel OP (and fun!) when you get them working, but it feels like in most runs it takes player skill to get those combinations to come together while becoming familiar with the roguelike RNG of the spire. (Rarely you do just get lucky though.) The difficulty curve feels good, both in individual runs and in succesive runs when climbing through ascension levels. I like the four player characters. They offer a variety of playstyles and are diverse thematically so I think it's easy for people to find a playstyle/character they like. The events you can run into between floors are well written. When I first saw my brother playing this game, I wasn't interested in trying it myself. I think at first glance the artstyle/animations looked cheap to me or something, even for an idie game. The gameplay is very good overall though, and now after playing it awhile I find the artstyle/visuals of the game charming. I'm excited for the sequel, hope it's as good or greater than the first spire.

Amazingly well done rogue-like
Simple, well-balanced, fun, addicting. It's been a while since I liked a rogue-like this much! Another plus is a that it's a very performant game, even on my old Intel HD 3000.

Amazing! This is my desert island game!
I don't like roguelikes, but I love Slay the Spire! I have close to 300 hours in StS on Steam, and it's a game I might never tire of. I love the gameplay loop, everything is a puzzle. Every run asks you to build a deck capable of beating the game's challenges based on what cards you're offered and what relics you get, and every battle asks you to play your cards strategically. Each class feels really different, and places different demands on you. There's a huge learning curve, and while you may get lucky and win your very first game (as I did), I feel like I'm still learning after dozens and dozens of runs. I used to have to rest all the time as Silent, and feel like I had to get lucky to win, and now I rarely rest and win 90+% of my low Ascension runs. What really made the game click, and greatly improved my success rate, is learning that I shouldn't build towards an archetype and should instead build towards the challenges. In Act 1 it's early attacks to deal with Gremlin Knob, in Act 2 it's AoE and scaling, and in Act 3 it's shoring up my deck and/or dealing with Raptormancer. Sometimes I end up with an archetype deck, but most of the time I don't. Once I felt like my deck was pretty weak because I didn't get any of the cards I normally look for, then realized that I had gone through all of Act 2 without taking any damage. Slay the Spire is amazing and incredibly well designed. Even after hundreds of hours, I'm still excited for each new run. The only downside is that it's very addictive, and every time I tell myself that I'll just play for 10-20 minutes, I end up getting hooked and "just one more turn"-ing myself until I've finished the 90 minute run.
