i've played this "back in the day" when this first came out, i think i still have to original cd's somewhere, i've spent countless hundreds of hours in to this game, and honestly, as civ type games go, this is one of the best... i love especially in this one how they have done unit design & building, and terraforming. you can lower and raise terrain, drill for new rivers etc.. with proper tech the whole planet is yours to shape to your liking. Sid meiers "beyond earth" is a good title also, basically a "civilization in space !", but this one was the original, and honestly, this one was better ! with modern mods this scales 99% perfectly to 4k screens, making you able to basically see whole planet at once ! Good stuff, highly recommend this title !

I loved this game when it first came out. I still play it and enjoy it.

Liebe zum Detail, Liebe zum Konfort, Liebe zur Story, Liebe zur Spielbarkeit; Liebe zum Spiel und noch viel mehr Liebe erlebt man in diesem Spiel. Ich habe kaum ein anderes Spiel erlebt, was so viel Inhalt geboten hat. Die aufeinander beziehenden Texte sind aeusserst detailliert und erstaunlich konsistent. Ein MUSS fuer jeden Liebhaber von Sci-Fi-Strategie! Auch noch heute - 2024-12-01

I did not know what to eexpect of "Civlization IN SPACE!", but I was not dissappointed. It is so much more. It has a strange narrative and unique worldbuilding all its own. Mind-worms, xenofungus, and without getting into spoilers I think the planet itself is "special" somehow? I picked a faction called "Gaia's Stepdaughters" and so tried to build an eco-friendly socialist utopia. The capitalists and the fascists formed an alliance to crush me. Still, I had fun and intend to keep playing. Give it a try.
