Good grief.
More than a decade later, and it's *still* by far the best thing that Firaxis have ever turned out. Marginally dated graphics and interface, but you will simply cease to care after ten minutes of play. Superb narrative, strikingly innovative mechanics, and unbelievably addictive. Easily the best game on GOG.

Alpha Centauri is the best
The best game of all time! It is strategically captivating and wonderful game play for hours. Days! Dare I say. Try it, be patience, it will pull you in and then you have to disconnect. But you will be back for more. GOG great job!

YES!!
Spent many hours on this game, especially the Alien Crossfire expansion made it great, but it is great without it also. This game had many of the features that Civilization had, but in my opinion, the politics for this game was much more interesting. Perhaps the best game from the Civilization series (although they're a spin-off).

Great game, hope to see Alien Crossfire too (a real rarity) and all the language support added (the expansion was only in english but Alpha Centauri was also avaible in Italian)
