Very good remaster of a great game
Last time I played it was 15 years ago, I did not complete the game back then despite enjoying it a lot, I couldn't beat some mission. Then newer Windows versions came and my Scrapland copy became unplayable. I kept my fond memories of it through all the years and suddenly the game got a remaster - I couldn't be happier. The game description and trailer show gameplay quite nicely, I won't repeat what it's about and such. The story is fun, characters colorful and unique, dialogues humorous. Gameplaywise it's very enjoyable. The game has one main storyline and there are optional challenges to get better ship parts - destroy some ships, win some ship races, destroy X characters as a certain character etc. Main quests aren't extraordinary either, quite a lot of them is about getting from one place to another, fighting or talking with someone and getting back. After some hours of that some tasks feel quite tedious as you spend minutes just travelling from one place to another, not bothering anyone. Difficulty level is appropriate for most of the time, I only had to lower the difficulty level to easy for 1 fight near the end of the game - I completed the rest (200+ of them) on normal and I enjoyed it. About the remaster - game runs extremely smoothly, there were no crashes or bugs during my gameplay. Textures look very nice, cutscenes on the other side look untouched - but there are only few of them. I completed the game in under 20 hours, without all challenges (sidequests) it should be around 15 hours of gameplay. There's also a multiplayer, but as I looked the servers were empty. My 5 stars rating comes from nostalgia, game setting, humour and characters - and from a quality of the remaster itself. But keep in mind that the gameplay itself aged a little bit, the ingame world certainly isn't a GTA in a robots world (it doesn't engage with the player very much) and it's very linear - but afterall it provides fun. I wholeheartedly recommend Scrapland!
