Better than a Privateer remake
I really enjoyed every second. I always wanted a Privateer remake, but this is much better.

A new Privateer
This game is a lot like Privateer, witch apparantly is not what a lot of fans of the first rebel galaxy wanted. A lot of the negative reviews are more for what they they wanted and not for what the game actually is. This is a first person dog fighting and trading game. I didn't like the first rebel galaxy, but really like this one. If you are playing with a mose and keybord i recomend using the ingame chasing and aim assist, the game is hard enough without crippeling yourself. The only real negativ thing I have to say about the game is the story. Important characters are introduced so late in the plot that we bearly get to know them. That we have a revenge mission right of the start is not particularly compelling either when we don't know anything about the guy we are avenging. I would recommend that if they make more games like this that they do the story more like Privateer did and have the story kick off when we take on a job that we maybe shouldn't have.

Rebel Galaxy and Everspace are better
Pros 1)Better Art Direction 2) I like the new way to interact on stations Cons 1) There doesn't appear to be a way to full stop 2) the controls scheme is insane and it's nearly immposible to replicate the controls from the first game 3) The main voice actor(ess) sounds bored 4) System names are lazy and named after states and cities 5) Sometimes the backs out and sometimes it pulls up the menu...

Modern Privateer
Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is a beautifully made homage to the classic space trading / pirating / do what you want game Privateer. It even has little details that nod back to the old game, such as the details in the debris from exploding ships being very much alike the old game. The soundtrack is excellent, it has a streamer friendly mode should you want to stream it without the licence music causing problems. It's fun and doesn't take itself too seriously, if you want a space sim like star citizen this is not for you, if you want a good time and you want to see what all the fuss over Privateer was from back i nthe day, give it a try!
