Great game with great support!

I speedrun this game series, and I only started speedrunning this game because I fell in love with it years ago. Among Sierra games, this one is one of the more forgiving ones, but it certainly challenging enough. Play a Fighter and solve puzzles one way. Play a Wizard and solve them a different way. Play a Thief and sneak around solving puzzles. Want a Fighter with Stealth? No problem; but that at the start! Want a Thief with Magic? No problem; but that at the start! The Developers, Corey and Lori Cole, are fantastic as well. :) I totally recommend this game. If there was a sixth star, it would have seven.

So you want to be a hero, eh?

Well, look no further, my friend. When I first played Quest for Glory, I was in 3rd grade. I had no idea how to play it, the sound never worked, the controls confused me, and I just didn't know what to do. Yet there I was, completely entangled in it's grip, and for all of these years, it never has. This is a series that has stayed with me since then, and the moment that I saw it for sale on this site, I lit up like a fire! These games are as good as adventure games get. The dialogue is great, the animated sprites, though aged, are relatively nice, and the voice acting, though not perfect, does it's job. I highly recommend this series to anybody that has an adventure game itch. I'm sure you'll fall in love as soon as you start playing!

In A FACS Class Of Its Own

To date I don't think I've played a series that was as engrossing as this series. One of the first RPG/Adventure games and easily one of the most enjoyable games ever written. Like all good stories, QFG (or Hero's Quest if you had the original version of the QFG1) had a cast of characters that brought each episode alive for the players, and then in many cases, they would pop back in to help you in later episodes. The story, humor, puzzles, skill building, and combat made this series easily my favorite games ever. If you're not sure whether you will like the game, consider this: when Sierra On-Line was in financial troubles and planned to cancel the fifth game, it was the fans who demanded, en-masse, that the story needed to be completed. Sierra reversed its decision and QFG 5 was released. Not many games have that degree of support.

Quest for Glory

The Quest for Glory games are part fantasy CRPG and part point & click adventure game, with a good mixture of silliness and seriousness in the storytelling. QfG does an excellent job of combining the combat of a CRPG with the puzzles of a graphical adventure game - a feat few other games have successfully replicated. Most other games that have tried have ended up with either combat systems or puzzles that felt tacked-on at the 11th hour. At the end of each game of the series, you can save your hero and transfer him to the next game. In each successive game, the maximum stats for your hero increase, and in the earlier games, the only way to change your class to Paladin was to transfer your saved character from a previous game. Each class has a slightly different path through the story, giving each game 4 ways to play through to the end. This pack of 5 games will keep you entertained for a long time.
