Oh the good ol days revisited

I have been waiting so long for this game to come to GOG for all people to enjoy. I waited so long like the Katta stuck at the Inn in QFG 1. Like Abdullah the merchant who got raided by the band of thieving brigands. Like Brauggi the frost giant seeking gems. Like so many characters waiting for the winter frost to leave Spielburg. But no longer, GOG has completed their quest for glory by allowing GOG fans to purchase this product. This game conjures up so many fond memories. When people were playing Doom 98 or Counterstrike or even Kings quest, I nurtured my soul and imagination with the QFG series. This game has all the elements of great story telling. Lori and Cory Cole are excellent directors and producers. The puns, the characters, and the settings all bring the best of fantasy to an RPG click-and-pick. You could pick between 3 types of characters and be a paladin depending on the choices you made. There was never a doubt in my mind this game would succeed had it had the chance and marketing King's Quest had. Quest for Glory 5 made it even BETTER because of the music, the return of nostalgic characters, and of course the return of our dedicated Hero. Unfortunately I had bought all these games awhile ago, and had I known GOG would do this I would've waited. But alas, you (the potential QFG fan) can enjoy this game like I had all those years ago. In the immortalized words of Levar Burton, "You don't have to take my word for it".

Yes! Uncountable prayers and sacrifieces to any deity or demon i could think of are finally answered! THIS was the game I was searching for a few years back, which lead me to discover GOG! I'm gonna forget diabloIII and become a hero once again!

Best $10 I ever spent.

So, Like a lot of people I played QFG 1 as a kid. I loved it then and appreciate it now. I have played a bit of the others throughout the years, but this time I really sat down ready to play through them all. I'm on 5 now and, I can't tell you, it has been so much fun. If the outdated graphics of 2 throw you off there is a free legal download of a QFG 2 remake online. I have spent hours on the first 4 games and I'm sure you'll spend more if you don't use any walkthroughs. These games still hold up today. If you've never played these games, please, give them a chance. Go in with an open mind, this isn't Skyrim.

By golly it's an Antwerp!

I could never figure out why the Quest for Glory (originally Hero's Quest) series was not as popular as the other Sierra "X Quest" games. Maybe it was because the non point-n-click part of the game (all combat) was initially rather glitchy, which made the first iteration of the first game very hard to complete. Whatever the case, I loved the heck out of tehse games because they were just so darned fun, glitches and all. I still remember some lines from the first two installments all these years later. These were adventure/ sword/ spell/ stealth games that didn't take themselves as seriously as the more typical D&D stuff, and laughing through a game goes a long way toward making it memorable. Caveat: The 5th game in the series was significantly changed from the earlier 4, and not for the better. I tried to play it, but despite lots of references to the earlier games (some of them pretty good), it just never felt as fun for me. (It didn't help that there was a persistent crash-to-desktop about 3/4 of the way through on my old hardware, so I never completed it.) In any case, the first 4 games are well worth the price of admission.

Best Collection of Games Ever

Anyone who hasn't played Quest for Glory is robbing themselves of an excellent gaming experience. I still think games like these are more adventurous and interesting than their modern equivalents, such as the Elder Scrolls series. I wish people nowadays would make more games like this that have a true sense of adventure. My personal favorites are Quest for Glory I and Quest for Glory IV, but I have never played Quest for Glory V as I could never find a copy of it. I think one of the great things about these games is the ability for one to continue using the same character through the whole series. I highly recommend these games to anyone who wants a genuine gaming experience. This is what computer games were originally supposed to be about, and the replay value is astounding. Personally, I've played through each game several times, and won't hesitate to do so again.
