When you go trick-or-treating, you don't come back 100 percent with candy you love. There's some bleh stuff mixed in, stuff that you put up with to get to the candy you can't wait to eat. That's a perfect analog for Pumpkin Jack. You'll push past parts of it because this mascot platformer has some really great qualities. And, when viewed as a whole, a bucket full of candy ain't so bad.

Pumpkin Jack is a fun and nostalgic title that is perfectly placed to be your Halloween game this year. Highly recommended for any fans of old school platforming adventures, but also worth checking out for the spookier sorts too. It doesn't revolutionise anything, but it also doesn't outstay its welcome, and the fact that it is the work of a solo developer makes it even more impressive. This particular pumpkin deserves to carve out some of your seasonal gaming time.

very pleasant expirience
gameplay was not unique and game was preatty easy but the story was fresh and the mechanisc are not over used since the game is short if it was longer it would be worse 8/10

Solid action platformer
Pumpkin Jack did a great job getting me into the Halloween spirit. I really appreciated how each level had it's own distinct feel and mechanics. The variety in gameplay is also great, blending platforming, combat, and puzzles beautifully. Playing this made me feel like a kid again. Definitely recommended.

More than a MediEvil clone !
On an aesthetic level, this game destroys. Everything from the colours to animation, level design, music, atmosphere, it has everything going for itself. Playability is fun, Jack has a double jump and it comes in handy for harder to reach goodies. Stop reading my review, get this game. Retail price is fair and on special it is nearly a steal.
