Simtower, aber mit Ausbaupotenzial.
Es ist im Grunde Simtower, aber hat auch Schwächen. Im Grunde ist es zwar Simtower hat aber bei einigen Details doch Schwächen, bzw. Simtower ist in manchen Bereichen komplexer und man kann mehr Einfluss nehmen. Im Angebot für 5 Euro oder das komplette Paket für 13 Euro macht man hier nichts falsch. 26,96 hätte ich dafür aber nicht ausgegeben. Positiv ist es gibt verschiedene Schwierigkeitsgrade. Es läuft im Gegensatz zu Simtower unter modernen Systemen. Es macht Spaß und es hat bei den Bewohnern und den Räumen mehr Details. Man muss auch genau planen wie man wo was hinbaut nicht das man durch Fehlplanungen Bewohner abreisen muss oder unnötig Platz verschwenden. Mein massiver Kritikpunkt sind die Aufzüge und die Treppen. Beim Simtower musste man die Aufzüge nicht nur bauen, man konnte sie planen wie lang ist die Wartezeit, wo hält er wie und wann. Zwar soll es später auch die Lobby- und Dienstleisteraufzüge geben, soweit bin ich noch nicht, aber ich glaub kaum das man dort Einfluss hat. Wobei ich mich im Simtower sowieso meist um die einfachen Aufzüge kümmerte. In Simtower konnte man beim Aufzug alles einstellen, hier baut man sie nur. Wenn das ergänzt oder behoben wird, gibt´s auch 4-5 Sterne. Die Treppen konnte man in Simtower an das Gebäude bauen, sahen aus wie Außentreppen. beim Simtower klatsch man die einfach wie ein Aufzugsschacht hin und neben einfach wie alle anderen Objekte Platz weg. Ich finde wer Project Highrise zum ersten mal spielt, wird eindeutig wenn er damit was anfangen kann seinen Spaß haben. Im Vergleich zu Simtower gibt´s dann leider im Detail die krassen Unterschiede die auffallen. Ich habe gedacht ich kann nun meine Windows 3.11 DOSbox VM weniger verwenden. Da aber Project Highrise kein Simtower ist, werde ich wohl auch weiterhin Simtower spielen. Sollte in einem Update es Verbesserungen geben, würde ich diesen Bericht ergänzen. Kleine Anmerkung zum Zusatzinhalt: Die zwei kleineren Inhalte benötigt man eigentlich gar nicht. Und Las Vegas ist auch nur ein etwas anderer Turm mit minimalen optischen Änderungen. Ich würde aktuelle Project Highrise kaufen für 4,99 und dann für die anderen Inhalte auf ein Angebot warten. Alles zusammen für 7,99-9,99 Euro wäre glaub ich ein fairer Preis.

Provides many hours of entertainment
Yes, this looks like a worth successor to Sim Tower. Something to scratch that itch you had all these years because the original was more of an elevator simulator, we thought that was a problem. Actually it wasn't, that was the fun of Sim Tower. The elevators in project highrise are just teleporters. A massive building can get away with just one. The graphics are very generic, not colourful like Sim Tower. My biggest bugbear with this game is modding support. Steam has full modding support while this has none. All in all it feels like the developers have abandoned this game.

Micro-heavy repetitive and lacking

It is a 2D skyscraper builder and management game featuring some minor scenarios but mainly a sandbox mode where you can build your skyscraper to the best of your ability in varying economic conditions. The gameplay essentially revolves around micromanaging the constructing, placing, and utilizing of every single tile on the map. And when I say utilizing i don’t mean making use of something. I mean setting up the utilities in the most annoying, repetitive, and drudgerous nature I have ever seen in a building sim. You place offices, stores, apartments, or whatever you so choose to place as there are no real cons to focusing on something. In fact you’re sort of penalized if you place different types of rooms on a single floor because they all require different utilities which makes you then have to pay to set up the ones you’re missing. You have to keep a good eye on economic conditions, because when they go down some of your inhabitants will leave and take the room with them (yes I’m serious, they take the room with them) all because you didn’t give them a rent break that they never asked you for beyond an angry face emoticon that comes up over their office which could be 2 by 2 squares on a something like 80 by 40 square map. You have to micro placing everything and if it doesn’t work out and someone leaves, you have to micro placing it again. It doesn’t just auto-fill with someone new. Fun ... I think ....
I've only played a few hours, but it does exactly what is says on the tin. Quite relaxing to play, and intriguing to get the balance right, which I haven't managed to do just yet. I think it will take a few run throughs to learn all of the mechanics, but it is fun trying and failing, so far.
