Pillars of Eternity: The White March - Expansion Pass contains both The White March: Part I and Part II for a rebated price. The White March Part II automatically becomes available to Expansion Pass owners as soon as it is released this Winter.
Pillars of Eternity: The White March - Part I is a large sprawling expansion pack with hours of gameplay integrated into the main adventure. Along with the new quests and area content, the team at Obsidian continues to support and make improvements to the entire game, including the additions of Player Party AI and Enhanced Enemy AI. Even if you haven't played Pillars of Eternity, now is a great time to jump in and experience the hardcore classic RPG with The White March - Part I.
Raised level cap: Your party of six adventurers can now progress beyond level 12 to 14. The additional levels add powerful new spells, abilities and talents for all 11 classes.
New areas to explore: Largely focused on the snowy environments inspired by Icewind Dale, the expansion will feature a new quest hub, and many additional quests and dungeons.
Soulbound weapons: The expansion features mighty artifacts that grow stronger over time. These weapons gain different powers and attributes depending on the character class that binds to it.
New companions: Part 1 of the expansion introduces two new companions you will be able to use throughout all of your adventures. The Devil of Caroc, a rogue, and Zahua, a monk, will be available to join you on your quest in The White March and will travel back with you into the base game.
Multi-class talents: Classes will now have additional options to diversify and take on some of the abilities of other classes.
Party AI: Now you will have the option to set AI scripts for your party, allowing you to focus on controlling the characters you care about most.
Enhanced Enemy AI: Enemies and monsters are now smarter than ever. The new AI makes the entire game more of a challenge, and spell casters will use a wider variety of their spells in more devastating ways.
Respec: At any inn or tavern the player can re-level their party members. It gives flexibility for the player to experiment with the RPG systems and try out builds with the newly added multi-class talents. If you aren't completely satisfied with your character, you can now do a rebuild and start over fresh.

Craving more Pillars of Eternity? Well then, prepare to have your appetite sated by two expansions that three new companions and a bunch of new areas and dungeons.
PROS:
+ New companions are cool
+ Soulbound weapons and armour are awesome
+ Various refinements to game mechanics, e.g. Story Mode
CONS:
- New companions could have been fleshed out a bit more
- Very combat heavy
- Level scaling option a bit confusing
Overall, a very worthwhile expansion pass, especially compared to other so-called Expansion Passes/Season Passes. Money well spent.
Like Icewind Dale, White March is combat-driven with less story (although there is one) in a wintry setting. The music and art are solid as expected. You can traverse back and forth from the main game to the expansion no problem. The new characters, level caps, items and the expansion altogether feels seamlessly integrated into the main game.
There are quite a few side quests to do. Some are creative but usually the same old fetch quest or hunt whatever down. One thing I loved about the base game was that it felt like it didn't matter what kind of party you had, then you could adjust your tactics and make it work. You have an option to have this expansion scale to your level. Depending on your choice, the expansion can feel rough if you thought you were over-leveled and it was going to be easy. In this game, bosses like the alpine dragon and Llengrath are frustrating even if you thought you were over powered. There are angles to the fight that you can take advantage of, but it will still be frustrating unless you put the game on easy before entering the maps these bosses are on. The first location you'll encounter called Cragholdt Bluffs will give you a rude awakening as the enemies here are some of the hardest in the entire game including the base game. In my game these guys were wearing MUCH better gear than soldiers I'd fight in locations I'd find afterwards. Why? The mobs like the main game are for the *most part* easy fodder with the exception of a few snags I mentioned easlier. The ending to White March II felt like closure and does make you feel like your character is more epic for completing it. You might hit a few frustrating battles, but overall exploring new locations, enjoying the new level caps and new characters make it worthwhile. Definitely not perfect, nor as finely tuned with strategic considerations as the base game, yet still fun. Worth 25 bucks. 15 on sale is better. Expect 20-30 hours depending on how fast you get through it.
Pillars of Eternity is a phenomenal experience for anyone that is a fan of any crpg. For this to be a title releasing in 2015 - Upon playing I was immersed into a world that I knew. Beautiful borders, and painted backgrounds of relics, forest, and cities on the loading screens lured me in.
The dialogue on this game exceeds my expectations by far. While writing, the attention to detail that was done is breathtaking. The narratives and backstories alike are thought of with the utmost attention to detail. Rendering you a fool if you do not eat every last sentence alive.
Combat is very competitive, with old CRPG'ers getting a slight upper hand. Newcomers will have to start on easy. The game on normal truly it meant for gamers with a background of CRPG. Taking the time to adjust a battlefield, or even using a spell that doesn't do damage is absolutely neccessary if you play and more than normal. Quick item's have to be used as well as food.
I really enjoyed playing White March after finishing the main canpaign of PoE. I can truly recommend everyone who likes this game to purchase the DLC as well.
