Hmmm...
Quick review: -1.- To begin with, we have a very intriguing and interesting story. -2.- Phantom Trigger is a “Neon Slasher” where I had high expectations. But they dissipated throughout the gaming experience. Unfortunately, the combat gets very dull and repetitive. -3.- Visually the images in the game are very colorful and vibrant. The lighting and the effects of the environment are well achieved. The sounds and music are very well implemented and fit into the mechanics of the video game. -4.- The gameplay is nothing out of the ordinary. You face a horde of enemies at the beginning of each level and then you go all the way to the end of the stage to fight the final boss from that level. The design of the levels is good, but it feels very linear. The few puzzles in the game help a little with the rhythm of the game. There are three types of weapons: (1) a short and agile sword to use, (2) a powerful knuckle of fire for close combat and (3) a whip for long distances. These weapons are used both for objects in the environment of the video game and to fight against the bosses of each level. The combos are short, very short and, generally, they are accompanied by a special movement that finishes it. There are no skill points and the progression of the character is null. Weapons can be improved, but their only purpose is to unlock the level needed to execute new combos with them. This is compensated with the skill you are gaining with your character along this adventure. There is no tutorial to help you become very familiar with the game or controls. However, the controls are simple and convenient and so you can adapt in a very short time. -5.- The video game can be finished in about five, six or seven hours. And there's not much incentive to replay it.
