Before you buy
- This is only Part 1 of the Iron Strategy and there is no Part 2 here. - Mouse with the high DPI will move the camera really fast, even if you reduce its in-game sensitivity to 0.5. - The first thing you do - rebind movement keys to wasd (arrows by default). - This distribution contains original cd-tracks. Awesome.

Good old Iron Strategy.
Aside from some performance issues and wacky, at times, controls, this game still holds up for what it was: a very well-made Russian RTS/FPS hybrid. I really like this mixture of genres, and I always was a fan of the setting. As far as I know there's no English translation of the lore files? Because those give a completely new angle at everything that happened in the game, and gives more insight on the fate of poor Donald Ballen. My major problem with the game was purely technical: it refuses to see my dedicated GPU and instead uses the built-in (i am on an HP Pavilion g6 laptop). If there is any solution to this, I'd be happy to hear from fellow Parkan fans or even the Devs.

Broken on Windows 10
This used to work fine on modern systems. However, presumably there was a Windows 10 update a while back which broke the game, since I (and others) can no longer play this - it crashes on launching a mission. The game itself is a 5/5 for me (nostalgic bias, perhaps), but this version is 1/5 as it simply doesn't work. GOG - please fix!

Great title
Honestly I haven't played it before, I'm playing it in 2025 for the first time and it's surprisingly good and interesting. It has an engaging story and a very addictive FPS/RTS blending gameplay. It's a great game.

it is completely broken
it does not work in windows 10 but goes into a mission and crashes right away. that problem have existed since modern systems. it will only work in 95 or windows 98.
