Beschreibung
Nothing is worse than the fallout from a powerful magic spell that’s been cast incorrectly. Unfortunately for Nikki, she gets to see the side effects of magic gone awry while attending a “Wizards in Training” seminar. Giant monsters, summoned by the spell, swallow her entire town. Now, Nikki and her three friends must make a journey to the Wishing Engine and be granted a wish to return everything back to normal.
Pandemonium! is a crazy action platformer that features the acrobatic duo of Nikki and Fargus. Nikki is a wizard's protege with amazing double-jump and somersaulting abilities that propel her to different platforms while avoiding treacherous obstacles in her path; Fargus is a jester with an unusual spinning attack move that enables him to eliminate his enemies. Together, Nikki, Fargus (and his sidekick Sid the puppet!) create total Pandemonium!

Wonderful game.
It's a wonderfully fun game; the only down side with these types of game is - it requires having that timing down to leap on something, avoid something, or else falling down a level (sometimes just flat out dying). But this game has a lot of pleasant memories for me, so I still play it.

Als ich diese beiden Pandemonium spiele im Store gesehen habe, war ich durchaus positiv überrascht und habe mich auch erst einmal richtig gefreut, da ich es noch von meiner Kindheit kenne. Ich habe mir dann erst mal die Systemanforderungen angesehen und es dann auch sofort gekauft. Leider startet das Spiel nicht mal. Es ist mir ein absolutes Rätsel, wie ein so großer Entwickler wie Square Enix ein Windows Spiel auf den Markt bringen kann, das noch nicht mal auf Windows funktioniert. Laut einer weiteren Rezension soll man sich auch noch einen Patch runterladen... Also ich habe für das Spiel GELD bezahlt, da kann ich ja wohl auch erwarten, dass dieses Spiel schon vollständig von Square Enix gepatcht worden ist, oder nicht.... Ich werde den Kauf jedenfalls zurück erstatten lassen.

Truly Pandemonium
A classic 2.5D platformer from the late 90s, but not exactly in a perfect state. Not only has the gameplay and graphics aged a fair bit (the lack of a save system on PC is baffling) but the port has a few issues that aren't present on the PS1 version of the game: 1. Music just stops playing once it hits the end of the track. No looping or anything, and each track is so short that you're pretty much garunteed to spend 60%+ of the levels with no music playing, turning it into a horror game. 2. The controls are really sluggish. When you try to use the double jump (one of two unique abilities availabe) it only responds some of the time, making it very difficult to actually land the trickier jumps. Overall, it's still a fun game, even with the bugs, but it's not going to have much to offer unless you're already into it.
