Fun game if you can get it working

I had to lower my speaker sample rate a little to get the sound working right and the performance is not very well optimised but I didn't expect that on day 1. As for the actual gameplay, I'm having fun so far but I guess the game is basically what I was hoping for. Other people were probably expecting something different but I like it for what it is, a randomly generated open universe to play around in. I won't say much about value because I don't care much about wasting money, I have bought worse value games and much better value games on GOG though.

Nice cruising around space

At first the performance was really bad until I went into the options and turned v-sync off and upped the max frame rate to 90. If you find none of your settings will change it's because you have to hold down your mouse button for a few seconds to select things. Performance is now better but they could definitely work more on this area. So far the game is really quiet good, especially if you try to ignore all the hype surrounding the game. When will people learn to have no expectations with things and just take them for what they are. I for one didn't even care too much for the game, it looked cool and now playing it's kind of what I expected.

System Requirements Not Met.

Looking forward to this game for the past two years as i'm sure many of you have, i was delighted to get my hands on this game, by all accounts I should have everything to run this game flawlessly. When I finally get my hands on a fresh copy of the game installed, sandwich and drink ready I double click to begin my grand new adventure.... nothing... I think maybe i've done something wrong so I play with things, and try again... nothing. After about 4 hours of research and tweaking I come across Happy games twitter feed. A hidden system requirement. Opengl 4.5 still not posted anywhere among the system requirement minimums I go about learning of this magical opengl I require for my top of the line system, only to find i fall 2 version short of it. I strongly suggest anyone interested in this title learn if they have OpenGL version 4.5 supported by their graphics card and chipset before settling down to play. Otherwise, Don't waste your time or money on this title.

Room for improvement

OK, so I played No Man´s Sky now for about 13 hours and so far I must say that I am hooked. Sure there are almost always the same things to do, but the whole atmosphere and the graphics and nice writing keep me coming back for more. There are things that could be improved, like adding real quests or making the ships more different, adding the option to have full control over the ship in form of expert controls etc. Performance on my pc is good, sure it could be better, but it is far away from the problems reported by so many people here. I do think that Hello Games can improve on the basis and let´s face it....it IS just a basis and growing ground for things to come. This game has a LOT of potential, only the sky is the limit!
