Cool little racer I've never heard of.
From what I've been reading this was never officially released until now. Pretty neat. The GOG version includes the full CD image (cue/bin format) so it should be a breeze to run it on real vintage MS-DOS computer hardware. Unlike the demo that did get released this has a nice soundtrack pounding along while you race. The only thing that is odd, so far, is no car engine sounds during gameplay. -shrug- You could always have someone stand next to you and start mouthing engine noises. My better half refused when I asked though. Not easy to steer at first and it will take some practice to control. You can remap the keyboard controls very easily. I haven't tried a controller yet. The car has a floaty feel to it and you will need to master braking. I found it quite challenging and I pretty much lose every race so far. The game has some nice options such as whole screen, split screen and scrolling screen track modes. It appears it has LAN play support in the options menu with a place to put a socket number and looks to support IPX networks. How you go about setting that up in DOS could be challenging though. If someone does get network play to work, please review it here. It supports up to two players locally. It shows a third player in the options screen, but lists it as N/A. Anyway, a neat throwback to a long ago age of overhead arcade racing. Has very nice low res VGA graphics and a very easy to use and responsive frontend UI.
