Ein einsamer Astronaut wird das am eigenen Leib erfahren, wenn er den Kontakt zur Erde verliert und eine interstellare Odyssee durch das Universum beginnt.
Moon Mystery ist ein Egoshooter-Abenteuer voller Rätsel und Action, das auf seltsamen neuen Welten spielt. Die grauen Felsen des Mondes sind nur der erste Schritt auf einer großen Reise. Fülle deine Sauerstofftanks und deine Magazine auf und mach dich bereit für eine lange Reise. Du wirst die Erde eine Weile nicht sehen.
Die Rückkehr der Menschen zum Mond war kein leichtes Unterfangen und erforderte modernste Technologien und künstliche Intelligenz. Finde zusammen mit dem einzigen Überlebenden, dem KI-Computer, heraus, was mit der vorherigen Mission auf dem Silberplaneten passiert ist. Unsere erste permanente Mondbasis ist der Ort, an dem alles schiefging. Was ist passiert? Worauf musst du dich vorbereiten? Warum sind wir überhaupt zum Mond gereist?
Der Mond ist eine der lebensfeindlichsten Umgebungen, die der Menschheit bekannt ist. Stelle deinen Verstand und deine Navigationsfähigkeiten auf die Probe, und durchquere tückische außerirdische Landschaften und riesige verlassene Weltraumbasen. Steuere verschiedene Fahrzeuge wie Raumschiffe, ferngesteuerte Autos, Mondrover und sogar ein U-Boot, um interstellare Welten zu durchqueren und die vielen Rätsel zu lösen.
Es ist eine Sache, rätsel zu lösen und sich mit Hilfe von geschickten Sprüngen durch die Umgebung zu bewegen … Der Kampf in den Korridoren gegen halbdefekte Roboter und andere furchterregende und mysteriöse Gegner, ist etwas ganz anderes. Halte die Waffe geladen und die Sauerstoffflaschen gefüllt, du wirst sie brauchen.
Just have to say straight away that i have not finished this game yet.
The menu system is so bugged i culd not change some of the setting i need to play the game.
Sometime it saves the setting, some ore most of the time they reset.
And sometime the game even softlocks the menu, and this prevented me from progressing.
Hopefully this i a small task for the devs to fix.
What is not a small task however is the childlike writing in the beginning of the game.
This may lighten up further on but for now i have to wait untill the game menus are fixed and i have the possibility to continue.
This game seems awsome and i see great potential here.
I haven't yet completed a full play-through at the time of writing, but I'm having a blast in Moon Mystery. For an indie game by a small team, I'm especially impressed. The visuals are great, I'm enjoying the unique puzzles and the general combat gameplay, the upgrade tree for both skills and equipment is straight forward and the general atmosphere is pretty cool.
Although not official on GoG, the game runs perfectly fine on Linux as well, using Lutris with no additional configuration tweaks. Literally just ran a standard Lutris install for it after linking with my GoG account, and it ran flawlessly without any changes since then.
Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase, and looking forward to what Cosmoscouts might produce in future.
moon mystery is a good game wi seemingly realistic real world physics, interesting syory line and really good graphics. the puzzles, thoe they have been around in differerant formats (i.e. flash). are recreated in a unique and even more chalenging way do to the enviromrnt that they are put in. the enviroments looks to be heavily inspired by SI-FI movies and TV shows STAR TREK, and 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, come to mind controls are are verry responcive with the XBOX controller, thoe the firing trigger is to sensative. im tallking hair trigger level. one wrong moove and there goes half a clip. the maine caricture could use a little more deveopment. the only big problem i have is the voice over sounds dull and lifeless thoe i do belive he did his best. but a theater major could have done a better job. and the controls when flying the space crafts are verry odd and cumbersome to say the least. and the enemy sprites are also inspired but unique in their own way. but all in all deispite its flaws. it is a verry well done game that is more than the price i paid for it. it is most assurdly a game worth playing for any fans of FPS's, SI-FI, PUZZLE, and MYSTERY game genre fans.
I really enjoyed Moon Mystery. For anyone (like me) who is a fan of both first person puzzle games (Portal, Talos Principle) and FPS, you will like this game too!
Pros:
* Huge variety of interesting puzzles to break up the gameplay. Puzzles run the gamut from physics-based to symbolic and everything in between. As soon as you're getting a bit bored of the combat, the game will throw another puzzle at you. Unlike most games, Moon Mystery does not repeat the same few puzzles ad nauseam but constantly keeps it fresh.
* Huge number of vehicles to use, from flying ships to all sports of ground vehicles. The game goes to great pains to make this fun - you can choose what POV (1st or third person) to view the vehicle in, you can usually get out whenever you want, and it's not easy to cause huge amounts of damage to the vehicle.
* Wide variety of environments/worlds, rendered quite beautifully.
* Combat is at a good difficulty level and usually requires an element of strategy in terms of what weapons to equip and how to approach a battle. Some clear "combat puzzles" are included.
* More focus on story than most FPSes, story has some interesting developments. Writing and acting are usually pretty good. Those complaining about the childish writing didn't play the whole game.
Cons:
* Enemy variety leaves something to be desired. I completed the whole game but I never encountered the "other, more terrifying and mysterious foes" mentioned in the description. Robots are fine (and there are some cool robot designs) but more could be done here.
* The game is really missing some sort of powerful RPG-style weapon. I thought I'd encounter this towards the end but did not.
* I liked the ending but it felt a bit rushed. There needed to be some more exposition and some more grand battles near the end.
* Some minor bugs and annoyances.
Overall, I really enjoyed Moon Mission. It's not perfect but I would recommend it due to the FPS/Puzzle blend.
I just finished the campaign in MM after about 7+ hours (playing on hard difficulty). It's obviously an indie game with limited production quality but it's not a bad game. A standard FPS with some puzzles in a linear campaign set in a sci fi setting where an astronaut is forced to battle his way through hordes (or more honestly groups) of hostile robots to prevent an attack on earth itself.
For an indie game, MM does a rather impressive job at keeping things varied. You get the chance to control various vehicles (space ships, submarines and moon rovers) and the puzzle challenges makes for a nice change of pace at times. Certain environments are also downright gorgeous to look at, my favorite being an icy world where you fight your way across large ice floes.
The weapons are rather rudimentary with the usual bunch of assault rifles, shotguns and sniper rifles that basically look like the modern arsenal of any current army and the shooting is standard, period. Sure, you can throw grenade and slow down time but you rarely need to use either one to dispatch the handful of different enemies that you encounter.
The writing and voice acting are essentially B-tier without spoiling too much but the story is serviceable and the ending sequence is actually pretty cool.
What I will say though is that the Kickstarter campaign that I backed to get Moon Mystery is one of the worst ones I've experienced with the GOG release lagging behind other platforms for more than six months and Moon Mystery still lacks achievments and soundtrack on GOG. That is just plain bad on their part but I won't stoop to review bombing MM - it's a fairly good indie FPS and I hope the team keeps making games but that they'll treat their GOG customers better in the future.
