Fun and Funny series!!

Might & Magic series is so fun and funny. I always loved playing it back in the day and I still do today. It made me giggle with the faces of our heroes on the hud. I also had a lot of fun saving the game before attacking a villager just to see them all get all angry faced and attack me. haha. Good times. For the time, the graphics were okay, nothing special but it did give that 3d exploration feel and I loved how free and open the game was to explore. Lots of story, humor and action. I collected a lot of gold from corpses of orcs and traveled the lands. Great adventures we had. lol It worked well on my 24mb computer. For some reason, looking back, I felt like there were more details to the graphics but I guess my brain filled the rest in. Now a days, for anyone new coming into this series, expect retro graphics but I tell ya, the game play is worth it! Let your brain do the rest and pretend you're back in 1998. <3 -Ginger

Soviel Vergnügen :)

Das man mit älteren Spielen durchaus viel Spaß haben kann, habe ich bereits mit Close Combat (1999) erlebt. MM9 ist aus 2002 und bietet die Möglichkeit aus der Egoperspektive eine 3D - Welt frei zu erkunden. Keine Raster, keine durchsichtigen Wände. Die Welt ist ganz schick, natürlich ist die Grafik in die Jahre gekommen. Dennoch macht es riesigen Spaß hinter jede Ecke zu gucken wofür man oft auch durchaus belohnt wird ..... oder sich in der Zange von Feinden wiederfindet. Es gibt belebte Städte, NPCS laufen hier sehr statisch umher und imitieren teilweise eine Art Unterhaltung. Trotzdem viel es mir nicht schwer mich auf die Spielwelt einzulassen sodass ich mich von der realen Welt abkoppeln kann (wie bei einem guten Buch... wenn sowas heute noch gelesen wird :P ) Ein Manko hat das Spiel allerdings. Es gibt anscheinend einen Bug, der es verhindert unter Wasser oder bei Nacht im freien sehen zu können. Sehr ärgerlich da es doch bestimmt hier und dort unter Wasser etwas zu entdecken gibt. Und wer sieht nicht gerne den Sternenhimmel? Wird es also Nacht, bleibt einem nichts anderes übrig als eine Rast einzulegen. Diese verbraucht zum Glück keine Ressourcen weshalb es sich kaum auf das Spiel auswirkt Was kann ich noch zu dem Spiel sagen ? Seine Charaktere optimal zu skillen macht Spaß wobei man sich vorher schon eine Richtung für die Charaktere überlegen sollte, ein "Umskillen" ist meines Wissen nach nicht möglich. Level ups erfolgen bei einem Lehrer sofern genug EXP gesammelt wurde und kostet Geld. Für das verbessern seiner Fähigkeiten werden Attributspunkte (erhalt durch LVLup) und ebenfalls Geld benötigt. Man kann besonders am Anfang also nicht alle Tränke wahllos nutzen und muss seinen Geldbeutel ein wenig managen. Darum bin ich auch Froh :-) Ich hatte es für 2,5€ gekauft. Hätte auch bis 10 Euro für den Spaß gezahlt ! Klare empfehlung für ein wenig entschleunigung und Fantasy-Fans ;)

Good prealpha MM9

I've completed this game multiple times and still it looks pretty good. It cannot start on Win10 out of the box, but there is fix for it. If you never played M&M series do not start with this one, if you played 6-8 parts - feel free to try it, but be ready to some bugs. Basically it is prealpha of the game that could be.

Not as bad as some would have you think

Might and magic 9 suffers tremendesly from being an unfinished product. Compared to the old games it falls short, but for what it is Id say it is still an entertaining game. It feels and plays somewhat differently than the previous installments due to the 3d engine, dungeon design is really cool and the ridicolous humor in the game is sort of funny. However all the areas you visit feel sort of barren, bland and not very detailed, it is prone to crashing occationally and the voice acting is either often comical or very subpar to name a few issues I had with the game. So if you can look past its flaws and shortcomings Id say it is not a bad game, just feels a bit underdeveloped, so the question is if its really worth your time. I got alot of entertainment out of it, but I cant recommend it over some other might and magic games Ive played.

Might and Magic 9

While this can be a fun game and reminds you of past Might and Magic games, it doesnt quite capture the glory of World of Xeen and VI. it just seems there wasnt enough polish put on this one. While not a 1/4th of the way through, im sure ill finish it but it still makes me long for a remake of the classics . While i recommend this to a fan of the past games and RPG's , there are better out there. Please someone make a Might and Magic XI that we can be proud of.
