Very, very pretty

I loved the story to this, it was a very enjoyable, epic-feeling pair of quests. I loved the resolution. I also found it beautiful and MOST of the puzzles to be very rationally thought out (many adventure games have oddly arbitrary solutions, I find), so even as someone with little experience of the genre I actually did ok. Just be warned that this is a sequel and it feels very, very much like one - though they do their best to play catch up.

This game will never leave my memoria.

One of the best adventure games I have ever played. I am so grateful there are companies like Daedalic still creating games in this genre. One of my favourite.

What a great adventure

Memoria improves on almost all of its predecessor's aspects, delivers a strong, original and thought-provoking story, a unity of effect that would make Edgar Allan Poe proud, and features some good puzzles, terrific characters, excellent voice acting and beautiful art. It's a bit of a shame that Geron and Nuri, the characters of the previous entry, get second billing, but their story arc gets told to a satisfactory conclusion as they serve as vehicles to tell the story of Sahja, the new protagonist. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because of the odd graphical glitch, some dialogue which doesn't correspond to the text and some misplaced sound files that fail to take into account what has already happened (describing objects that are no longer there or have been changed, for instance). And because of what I assume is an infuriating bit of poetic license taken with the English localization in a puzzle, which forced me to use a walkthrough, as I was stumped due to being led to a wrong conclusion. That being said, Memoria is a great point&click adventure with a fantastic story, and it can get four and a half stars, for all I care. Also, game developers take note: Sahja is how you write a "strong" female character. Not an all-conquering Mary Sue who can do no wrong and can do everything on her own and better than everyone else, but a compelling, fallible character with an actual personality instead of being a gestalt of "badass" traits.

What an evil game !

My feeling about this game (including the first part) is rather mitigated. I loved the gameplay and story but what's wrong with Daedalic Entertainement always giving us unhappy endings (I think of the ending of Deponia 3 and now this game). I won't spoil a bit but you should be warned before playing this game. Actually most people having played it to the end will have the impression of an almost happy ending should they have opted for the first concluding choice (there is indeed two alternative endings) but they would prove wrong, alas, if they watch carefully the very ending scene in the forest. If you followed and understood the scenario thoroughly that final scene is ruining everything, for those who wished a happy ending for Nuri ... and Geron. It's evil ! as if they said "you want a happy ending, here it is you can have it if you want... but finally no ! WE do not want a happy ending here in Daedalic, so get this one ending and be content with it means. I would have given 5 stars for the the gameplay and story but I can't with such a bad and obnoxious ending. I will be careful next time before playing another game from that editor.

To keep it short...

I had fun playing it and I don't like pnc adventure games very much (on the one hand it sounds like a compliment but on the other I may lack perspective). Puzzles aren't that far-fetched (with few exceptions) and the plot is engaging (especially how main thread intertwines with the story of oriental princess). Worthy epilogue to previous title, wish there was a third part showing what happened to those characters next.
