Works Great!
Never thought I'd get to play Master of Orion again. Everything downloaded rapidly and the game works great. Thanks, GOG team!

MOO2 is blowing me away
I'd never played either of these games but decided to try one because I love star trek and civ a whole lot. Galactic Civ was fun and I love Alpha Centauri but this game is already proving to be the best and I'm only a few hours in. I love the way the galaxy looks, I love the way you run your colonies anyway you want but no decision feels like it doesn't matter. Everything you do has an impact and all of the game is laid out in a few simple menus! It's so easy to know what you are doing but knowing whether you are making the right decision is difficult and that's how a good 4x strategy game should be. I love this more than any Civ already and can't wait to get better at it.

Moo 1 and 2 get my highest marks!!!
Moo 1 is the best turn based space strategy game in existence. It’s a simple interface and boiled down to the absolute essentials. The tech tree has many options to get the job done. Randomized maps means endless replay ability. Impossible is so difficult that I can only win about half of my attempts. Endless hours of fun as I hatch new plots make new designs and come up with ever wilder strategies to stave off disaster. Great sense of accomplishment when you win! Moo 2 is a great game and I still play it. The only down side is that you can't deviate much from the identical tech acquisition and to a lesser extent tech progression in each game. This tends to limit the replay ability somewhat. To offset that you can play around with the racial features to vary the games. It’s a prettier game than Moo 1 but less of a hard core strategy game.

Master of Orion Multiplayer
Well, I can't add anything to the praises deservedly heaped on this game. "MOO" was the first game my wife and I nicknamed "The Time Vampire", and we loved every bite. I've kept my original copy over the years and I re-bought the GOG version with, I assume, the inherent patch, but I am wondering, is the multiplayer online option feasible? The screen for Multiplayer offers a link to the "TEN" network, which I assume is now defunct (as it blinks merrily when clicked but nothing else happens), or asks you your modem's baud rate(!!!); does anyone know if it's possible to play this game online with friends? I know of at least three old gaming buddies who would snap it up in a heartbeat if we could all play together.
