Worse AI - a Shoddy Recreation-Job
NOT RECOMMENDED. It is very clear that the game tries to recreate what Majesty 1 had without the source code and the result is is vastly inferior. The AI is lobotomized and makes it extra likely that the units do the job in the most messed up way possible.E.g. with the enemy at 10 % health and them 30 %, they flee and if the enemy has a lot of attack range, it will end up chasing and killing the dude about 4 times out of 5. The part that really kills the Majesty gameplay is how units lock on to the reward flag objectives and ignore everything else trying to get to it, often getting themselves killed. For comparison, in M;ajesty 1, the units would clear the way killing enemies and collecting loot on the way there. Units almost always lock on to the flag with the highest reward, underlining how stupid and brainless it all is. In Majesty 1, there was a lot flag ignoring going on, which is why this kind of stuff almost never happened. The other annoying part that cements this game as garbage: the non-mentioned fright mechanic, meaning that a lvl 16 Dwarf with all gear turns back to flee (it will refuse to come out of the guild building if pursued that far) when it sees a bunch of imps or vampires i.e. units that would normally have no chance against it. There are levels with huge amounts of imps spawning, meaning you can get royally F'd trying to deal with them. There are a lot of glitches in the game. The most common one is how the UI and unit graphics start to turn glitched as soon as there are about a hundred units active in total. It can crash the game if it goes on for too long. I tried the Demo and a non-Collection copy at my pal's house and did not see the game pace glitch with fast enemy spawns combined with slow build times, no differences between the two. Try the original release if you get issues. The game pace is glitchy, e.g. cutscenes fast-forward-skip time. What a mess.
