It made me cry
Cute graphic, simlpe story and some intresting mechanics. And the most important thing- emotions. I was not expecting to cry from a platformer- but it is a proof, that sometimes, the simplest plots are the best.

Eins Vorweg, das ist eines der Schönsten Spiele das ich in den letzten Jahren gespielt habe. Es macht nichts das nur der Text in Deutsch ist, das macht die Geschichte nicht Schlechter, ganz im gegenteil, die Story ist geradezu Atemberaubend. Das Ende stimmt vielleicht etwas Traurig, aber meiner Meinung nach hätte die Geschichte auch noch etwas länger sein können. Die Grafik ist Wunderschön und passt hervorragend zum Spiel, auch die Musik ist gut und hat mich im Spiel kein einziges mal gestört. Die Rätsel im Spiel sind relativ einfach gehalten und leicht Lösbar, aufpassen muss man nur beim Sammeln der Glühwürmchen. Diese kann man schon mal leicht übersehen, da sie oft gut versteckt sind, man sollte auf jeden Fall versuchen alle Glühwürmchen zu finden. Dieses Spiel ist für Jung und Alt, es ist Magisch und für Spieler die Fantasy und Märchen mögen. Und wer etwas anderes Sagt, der sollte sich vielleicht ein anderes Hobby suchen !!

Chasing the dragon
What seemed a harmless little indie game turned me and my wife into emotional wrecks. It's a very well told story, it says it's for kids but there are some dark themes in here about loss and grief. It's a great adventure though, well worth the experience.

Delightful - and a bit heartbreaking
Three things you need to know about this game. 1) Gameplay is children level; there is nothing challenging about it, but the magic effects are nice. It's more of an interactive story. 2) It is a sad story. It is not the story of a plucky heroine, but of a girl working through stages of grief, through her storytelling and journaling. It may not be for everyone. I would recommend that you play it before giving it to your kids, or play with them. 3) The beginning chapters seem like something written by a kid, with a heroine a bit annoying and full of herself. This is not bad writing, but intentional. The character grows as the writer matures. It soon becomes deep and satisfying for all ages, it will leave you with a happy/sad feeling. I'm not a fan of sad stories, but this one got to me! =) For a bit more detail, the story jumps between the writer-girl journaling, and writing a story. During journal segments you learn of her real life, while the challenges the story character encounters reflect the writer's working through her life issues. It is very well-written - the writer is Rhianna Pratchett, daughter of Terry!; the visuals are intertwined with words and artwork in clever ways; and the voice acting -- particularly of the young protagonist -- is some of the best I've heard, able to convey a world of feeling with just a pause or an inflection. The cover art doesn't look like much, but the in-game art is also beautiful, and the music, while not memorable, punctuates every emotional moment perfectly. The game glitched once or twice, but if you go to the menu and start again it begins right were you left. It took me under 6 hours, and I'm very happy that I played it, it was a delightful experience. It is also very inspiring for young would-be writers, especially girls, so if your kid likes to write or draw fantasy stories I'd say give it a try!

Touching Story with relaxing gameplay
Great artwork and atmosphere with fantastic english voice acting(don't know about the others). Difficulty level is quite low and might bore veteran gamers. The story does tackle deeper aspects of finality of life with symbolisms weaved in like a well written novel. Gameplay is solid and smooth, and get more innovative in later stages. The challenge level is not actually engaging enough to play for that reason only though. The gameplay serves as an interactive storytelling tool. Rather than sitting through long cutscenes, you'd be at platforming while the story is being narrated, which is the more unique feature of the game.
