Unexpectedly Dark

I loved Fran Bow, and was expecting about the same with this Adventure, but this is SO much darker. That's fine, if you're into that sort of thing (I am), but consider yourself warned. There were tons of choices to make, but it wasn't something that'd lock you out of the right path if you didn't magically know what you were "supposed" to do ahead of time; I liked that I was free to just have fun with it. The voices, writing, and a lot of just plain odd things happening in the background gave this a surreal edge that made it so interesting to me. To say much more would spoil some of the best parts, since this is a very narrative-driven experience, so if what you see above interests you, give it a go!

Enjoyable Dark Tale

Enjoyable pretty dark tale with plenty of dark humour, best enjoyed by those who appreciate that kind of humour. The protagonist is young and innocent. making her mostly emotionally impervious to the horrors around her which ultimately is what tilts the game towards humour and not tragedy. The creepy background voice, full of malevolent cynicism also plays well as a contrast to the protagonist's innocent silliness and completes the fun. I don't think they could have carried that joke too long, but the game is short and ends before it gets old. The story is mostly predictable, but it works well. The game is mostly linear and doesn't have much in the way of puzzles. There are various choices you can make in the story that feel like they should be significant, but my understanding is that it doesn't have much impact on the ending (but that only matters if you play more than once anyways). From what I read (I completed the game once), you technically have two ending, but it is based more on a gimmick than real choice (you'll understand once you get there or you can read about it online, it is not a huge spoiler honestly and the story is fairly predictable also). The graphics are not deep, but their uncommon quirkiness plays well with the overall mood of the game and adds a layer to it. The music does the same. Overall, while not the best game out there, it is an enjoyable one and I found it memorable enough that I think it will stick. I'm not sure I'll play it again, but I'll definitely remember it well, at least the broad strokes.

Verzaubernd-schrulliges Spiel

Dieses gelungene Spiel hat mir viel Freude bereitet. Wer schwarzen Humor liebt, den wird dieses Spiel sehr gefallen. Die graphische Gestaltung ist äußerst detailliert und liebevoll erstellt, der Spieler wird gleich in die merkwürdig schräge Welt der Little Misfortune entführt. Besonders angenehm sind die Synchronstimmen: die süße helle Stimme des Mädchens im Kontrast zur Stimme des Erzählers. Denn der Plot ist generell so, dass er mit Kontrasten spielt: das süße unschuldig Kindliche im Kontrast zu dem Düsteren, Ominösen und Schauerhaften. Es hat Spaß gemacht, sich durch das Spiel zu klicken. Mein einziger Kritikpunkt: es hätte gerne noch etwas länger gehen können! Wenn man sich in die Welt hineingeträumt hat, will man doch gerne noch ein bisschen länger dort bleiben.

Curious, Cute and a little Creepy

Made me cry and laugh out loud at the same time. Little Misfortune's naive worldview is wonderful yet absolutely heartbreaking. Little Missadventure with a lot of fun!

Following Little Missfortune through her little missadventure was a lot of fun and with happy accidents. The artwork is beautiful and underlined by atmospheric audio. The voiceacting is amazing and delivers the innocently happy misshappenings in the perfect way. I can recommend Little Missfortune to everyone with a bit of childish humor and around 3-4 hours of free time. If you like the cover art already, I am sure you will love this game.
